Posted November 12, 200618 yr I think it's another act of stupidity of the UK record company that they are not releasing a great new single. Slipping Away by Moby & Mylene Farmer. It's a brilliant piece of Techno. All because Mylene is French. She's France's Princess of pop. Take a listen HERE and see what you think. Edited November 12, 200618 yr by Euro Music

November 13, 200618 yr Author Slipping Away reached #53 in February of this year. Yes but it was the version without Mylene
November 13, 200618 yr Yes but it was the version without Mylene it was the far, far superior version with the amazing Alison Moyet! The Farmer version is awful.
November 13, 200618 yr moby has faded alot, his singles and album dont do near aswell as he used to its like he doesnt fit into any nmarket these days
November 14, 200618 yr Yes but it was the version without Mylene AND? He still released the song, I doubt he'll re-issue it because some nonentity has re-recorded it with him. :)

November 14, 200618 yr Author Yes but it was the version without Mylene I prefer this version with Mylene than the version with Alison Moyet Alyson Moyet's voice doesn't suit this kind of music. She's much better suited to R&B/Jazz.

Yazoo consisted of Alison along with Vince Clarke who was a member of Depeche Mode before and Erasure since. I have the album Upstairs At Eric's also 3 singles: Only You - Don't Go - Nobody's Diary. I also have 4 of Alison's solo singles: All Cried Out - Love Resurrection - That Ole Devil Called Love - Love Letters. Alison was quite a large lady with a great powerful voice but being so powerful I still don't thing that her voice is suited to that song. Edited November 14, 200618 yr by Euro Music

Alison was quite a large lady with a great powerful voice but being so powerful I still don't thing that her voice is suited to that song. You only seem to have bought her commercial stuff... I'd check out the work she's been doing with the guy from Portishead, with the Goldfrapp/Massive Attack production crew in Bristol - the album 'Hometime'. Her voice, being so powerful and velvety, matches perfectly a synth/dance backing (as proven by Situation - one of the biggest dance records of all time... and one of the most sampled)... not sure what her 'being large' has to do weith her voice, though..... The only problem with Moby's Slipping Away, featuring Alison, is that he had her voice way too low in the mix and his own way too high... otherwise it'd have been a perfect single.
