So after thinking about it for a while, I have decided to make this thread, the list of my top 40 shakira songs! Over today & tommorrow I shall countdown my favourite ever Shakira songs, all the way to #1 B)

 

With each charter I shall post a video [be it live or PV] and some personal commentary :D & also feel free to comment :P

No video available :( The first entry on my list, & the only song to be included from the Peligro album. Don't ask me why, but I find this song quite enjoyable, it's just good fun :lol:

The only song to appear from the Magia album, its the original HDL! :lol: It's got this great latin feel, with the trumpets and is a good uptempo & lively song

No video available :( the best way to describe it is the anti Hips Dont Lie :rofl: But personally I really like it, shakira's voice sounds very haunting and mysterious. Its low on my list because it's not a song I ever deliberatly set out to listen to, although I like it, I'll only ever listen [and appreciate it] when I listen to thewhole 'Pies Descalzos' CD.

 

However this song is like marmite, you'll either love it or hate it :lol:

Great idea! I like Esta Noche Voy Contigo A Bailar, it's prolly my fave off Magia. Peligro is alright but I much prefer Brujeria - it's like a mix of Ojos Asi, Whenever Wherever and La Tortura. It's the only song from those alubs where I think if she remastered it a little bit, it could be a hit today.

A great uptempo rock song off 'Donde Estan Los Ladrones?' & the first song off the album to appear. A catchy song about how Shakira's man aint coming back since he left her for another b!tch :lol: I probably under-rate it a lot, but i find [just like PET] I skip it sometimes -_-

yeah I agree with Brujeria, but the bongo-ish beat in the background really irritates me :lol:

Fan made video. The first english song to appear on the list, a political disco stomper which could fill up a dancefloor. When I first got OF2 it used to be my favourite, and judging by the rest of my list it still is, as only 4 other OF2 tracks chart above it. Really love the lyrics, it whats seperates it from something any artist trying to follow a trend could use, but the lyrics really set it apart

fan made video [bad quality sound, sory :( ] I realise a lot of people dislike this song, but personally I think it's great! :lol: a punky-rock-latin, and although she has delved into rock many times before, never like this :P Thats not to say it is true rock, it isnt, but Shakira's voice sounds awesome and gives her a chance to rock out! :lol:

One of the only spanish songs on the mega seller 'Laundry Service' that wasnt a translation, and feels like a natural evolution from the music that was on DELL. Sometimes I go for a long time without listening to it, but once I hear it, it always strikes a chord with me, its fab ^_^

Fan video. A surprising entry to say the least :lol: For the majority of the time I've had FO1 I felt this as filler, but after the hype of the main singles had faded I listened to this and really appreciated just how good it is. A great song to chill to when the sun is shining, and shows Shakira's diversity from being able to do a song like 'La Tortura' to this

Im a sucker for Shakira when she goes political, I just love the fact she's able to write such deep lyrics and deliver them so well, with feeling. Musically it isnt her most interesting song, but the lyrics really are good [check out translations if you dont understand them]

I never listen to shakira songs if I dont already own the album/single, which is why I was surprised when i first heard this a few months ago :lol: Obviously hearing this was a good thing as already its nearly in the top 30 of my favourite Shakira songs. A fun song and the spanish alternative to 'Knock On My Door' Another pepsi song may appear in my chart, so keep a look out!

& here it is! A great song with blasts of latin and rock influences. A really catchy song, feels like a mox of WW mets Ojos Asi [although not as good as the both mentioned] just an aweomse song :D

Originally this used to be one of my least favourite Shakira songs! :o However, seeing the version she performed on TOTM really changed my mind about this song, I love the theme of the song and the metaphor in the title that talking to a drugged up person is as much use as reading poems to a horse :lol:

Once you see Te Dejo Madrid live it'll raise so much as one of your fave Shakira songs. I never really thought it was a significant part of LS but it completely transcended that on the tour.

great idea!! its so difficult coming up with a top10 list let alone a top40 i can't wait to see whats coming next

A powerful rock song with great lyrics, and its my favourite song title of hers. You can really feel what she's saying and it has some great lyrics such as ''I Told You I Felt Lucky With My Humble Breasts'' & ''Im Not A Virgin But Im Not The Whore You Think'' It has such a grungy atmosphere as well, it would be awesome to see this live
