It never occured to me how much I enjoy the ''Pies Descalzos'' album until I started making this list. This song just feels really fresh and I love the whole acousticy vibe of the album. IMO she should perform this on her tour, as you can see by the video it sounds awesome live....just great :D

I remember when we first heard the 30 second clips of OF2, Animal City was my immediate favourite song, after hearing only 30 secs of it! The reason I like this track is that it would make an amazing single & it has a great theme. I think most people will agree that this is a great song, and one of OF2's highlights

Im sure everyone knows this! What to say? the biggest song worldwide of the year, most played song in US History, fastest digital downloads ever & the biggest selling single by a female artist in the UK in 2006 :P B) Im sure for people who dont a lot of Shakira's music this would be #1, but I debated wether put it this high. She is capable of better, but I put it here for this reason: it's simply a great song. Put this on at a party and everyobne is dancing, everyone knows the words, it defined the summer of 2006 and worldwide was bigger than WW, arguably her biggest song. This song will be remembered by the majority as a defining song of the summer, trumpets, dancing, it has it all.

For songs like this I dont have much to say, I just like them. It has a great laid back acoustic feel, and perfect to just chill to in the summer.

A great song by Shakira, although I find it doesnt really go anywhere i.e once youve heard the first minute, you've heard it all. However, I think its a great example of how Shakira can do a fun song lie this and not resort to videos like WW & HDL

Like I said before, i love it when she gets political/controversial. However, you dont realise it is if you dont understand the words as it sounds pretty cheerful :lol: I love the harmonica bits inbetween her vocals, they really make the song for me, and overall its a really catchy track

Just missing out on a place in the top 20, we have En Tus Pupilas. I must say that although the english version does nothing for me, the spanish version just has this something, kind of like a magic about it, its a very beautiful song :wub:

The first entry in the top 20 is arguably her most well known hit, WW. The lead single from Laundry Service, this catapulted Shakira from superstardom to megastardom. I remember the first time I seen this on tv, I was trying to figure out wether it was Britney or Christina :rofl: The song that got me into her, it shall forever be a landmark in music B)

Some people find this boring, but I love it :wub: The video is one of her most creative, and the song itself is a laidback song with anthemic chorus, and I love it when she says 'Dependo En Ti' :wub:

With this song Shakira shows such a beautiful part of her, when its live its unbelievable just how good it sounds, the emotion is amazing :wub: this shows Shakira can do a power ballad just as good as the Mariah's & Whitneys of the world without having to yell her notes like theres no tommorrow

One of the standout songs on FO1, a great slice of electro-pop which would make Kylie envious. Shakira bases the song around the fact that ''The Ones With Intuicion'' are women :P Either way, as soon as you play this, you will be addicted, and it once again shows her ability to effortlessly change genres :wub:

undoubtedly the song of 2005, this song spent an impressive 21 weeks at #1 on the hot latin tracks, and no doubt helped FO1 to become the fastest selling latin album. But what makes LT so special? It manages to combine great lyrics with an incredible beat, even if you cant speak a word of spanish you can sing along to it. I should also say that Alejandro & Shakira's voices match perfectly together, they dont clash, they sound like they belong together :wub: It was the perfect way to signal Shaki's return over a year ago

The song that saved Shakira's career from the threat of being dropped all those years ago. A simple song which doesnt try and do to much, but even if it doesnt spark your attention like some of her other songs, you cant deny its a great song, and the accompaniment matches perfectly with the lyrics

A personal favourite from Laundry Service, it's just a really happy, enjoyable & fun song, and contains that really show her quirkiness :lol: , such as ''I Used To read Survival Guides Whe My World Was Full Of Seven Legged Cats'' Great fun, something I find Shakira doesnt show a lot on her albums lyrically

No video :cry: IMO her most under-rated song, and mabye that makes me love it even more. VERY similar to Estoy Aqui, but its just such a melodic and wonderful song :wub: why she never performs it, I'll never know, but if she does, she'll make my day.

This song JUST misses out of my top 10 Shakira songs. What can I say? the original version is amazing, the synths do not overtake the song [which for songs which sue them it can be easy to do] but they stay in the background and let shakira's voice shine. The middle vocal is absolutely awesome :wub

 

The acoustic version = wow :wub: so much passion, emotion, I love the way she uses her language skills in this track is beautiful, and yet so sad :wub: :cry:
