I got one of my many emails from HMV listing a selection of vinyls that have been reduced including ‘Spice’ the white vinyl let’s hope that attracts some casual buyers
Finally out tomorrow! :cheer: (Although my Amazon order says they’ll arrive on Tuesday lol, even though I have Prime 🤔)

God hates you.

I hope we all stream as well as buying the vinyls from midnight tonight.

Mine will arrive next week. Probably for the Corona virus.

For some reason Spiceworld vinyl on Amazon isn't available for immediate dispatch (and it hasn't been since it went on sale at midnight). It's currently showing as 'available to ship in 1-2 days'. Greatest Hits is in stock though.

The rest of this post is about my experience with Amazon lol, you don't have to read further if you're not interested :kink: -

When I ordered Spiceworld and Greatest Hits from Amazon in November, they cost £17.02 each (£34.04 overall). As of yesterday my order showed them both as 'arriving on Tuesday', which I felt unsatisfied about considering that I have Prime (you're meant to receive new items on the day of release).

I contacted Amazon to ask about why they were delayed, and it was because of Spiceworld. Ultimately I was advised to cancel Spiceworld and re-order it again, so that they could speed up the shipping time for Greatest Hits (I am now receiving that tomorrow, i.e. Saturday). Spiceworld is currently showing as expected to arrive on Monday. Still a bit annoying, but it's better than both coming on Tuesday (I'm clearly impatient x).

Because Spiceworld is now £18.99 (whereas it was £17.02 when I ordered it) the Amazon assistant said she would refund the difference for me, which would have been £1.97. Initially she said she would give me £2 credit, but then out of the blue said that she would give me £5 instead, to make up for the inconvenience! :o

Ultimately it means that Spiceworld cost me £13.99 and Greatest Hits £17.02, so £31.01 altogether. A saving of £3.03 compared to my original order. Also a saving of £6.97 if I'd waited to buy both for £18.99. So I'm happier about waiting a bit longer for my copies now.

It seems they've pushed the Spiceworld vinyl more on social media and it's getting more attention than the GH at the moment, which is good. I hope it sells well.

Most people who have the picture disc may not even bother buying the GH standard vinyl.

Yeah I definitely think casual fans aren't going to buy Greatest Hits again, even though the black vinyl should be a better quality listen than the picture disc is. Although having said that I bet a lot of people bought the picture disc simply to own and look at, rather than play it.

I really hope both albums can return to the Top 100, but I'm not hugely confident about it (I'd like to think Spiceworld will make it in, but Greatest Hits might be a long shot... I suppose it depends on how strong Greatest Hits' streaming currently is).

What they should have done back in 2019 was just one Vinyl release of the GH on Black Vinyl with the original 2007 cover and then maybe a few months after done a limited edition of the picture disc for hardcore fans.

I'm not a fan of the artwork.

I've streamed Spiceworld 10 times today already lol

I think both will be top 100. Spiceworld thanks to strong vinyls sales, the greatest hits thanks to stronger streaming.

There are a lot of people posting they got them on twitter, I bet a lot of pre-orders were placed over the last 5 months it was available.

Spiceworld is up to #75 on Amazon now but says only 13 copies left, they defo struggled to get enough vinyls to cover the pre-order demand judging by a lot of people not getting them delivered till tues or Wednesday.
