He was in South Africa with Will Young last week!! :D According to Louis Walsh chatting to Graham Norton last night he is releasing in other countries and selling thousands of records!! He has the potential to be a global star!!! Graham Norton's comment was that 'he needs to release in this country first!' :lol:

It happened to the last x factor winner before him and it'll no doubt happen to the new winner aswell. Simon Cowell & co must have no shame to continue with this show when the last two winners have flopped.

His debut single sold 1m copies, his 2nd single sold 200k copies (I think) yeah his 3rd single bombed fair enough. His album is closing in on the half a million mark, and isn't 500k roughly what Will Young sold with From Now On? Look at him now....

Just answering a few of the questions raised, Shayne Ward has been "doing a Gareth" ie; getting big in Asia and selling very well, but I think he's neglected his UK fans a lot by doing so, they've taken the single planned for december off the release schedule, so that'll probably be in January before album number two is released and he starts his tour.

I'm not a fan of Shayne Ward but I don't think he'll disappear just yet, he'll be appearing on the X-Factor show soon I'm sure, by the way, Will Young sold over 800k of From Now On.

I actually think he is a really good singer and wanted him to win the Xfactor :o His performance of 'Over the rainbow' showed he has a very strong vocal range. However I now dislike him because he is a one man Westlife and is another puppet of Simon and Louise just like Westlife :puke2:

It's not just Shayne and Gareth who have gone to Asia. Most major international artists try to get big in Asia, although not everyone manages it. The same goes for Europe, although I don't think Shayne has done much in Europe so far. The UK is just one music market. It's an important one, but it makes up only a fraction of world sales.

Nosey, the seven dates in South Africa were all for charity to feed, clothe and educate South Africa's needy children.
