Not saying anyone is racist but it is the same confident black women criticisms like Alexandra Burke etc get

Maybe I'm just too innocent but I just take it as it is?

He did, stunning album getting the recognition it deserves!

Def one of my top 5 of last year!

The show then ends with Rod Stewart ruining his own songs with an out of place keyboard.

I like nights at award shows where we get a variety of winners.

Like All 3 of Stormzy, Dave and Lewis getting one for me was great to witness  it’s sort of showing diversity in a way rather than one person getting them all. Makes it a more rewarding night.

Also I’d like to again say I’m not a racist re Lizzo. And yeah sorry for going off topic and turning this into a non BRITs thread at times. I know I can go off topic and fly off the handle etc I’m still learning guys.

But yeah just look at me and you’ll see I’m no racist (an easy cop out) but still pls x

Again, don’t want to turn this into a debate but sometimes you can take it as it is too many times to the point where people feel the need to say something because the same things are occuring over and over

Like the whole lack of female nominations in the BRITs. You can take it as it is and not read between the lines but when you look at Awards shows over the oast few years in general, and there’s a disproportionate lack of female nominations, there’s clearly a problem there, that may not be obvious at first.

Again, I’m most certainly going past the points discussed in this thread and not trying to insinuate anything!

you're clearly not. the comment was ridiculous

I'm generally satisfied with the performances and winners this year! More female representation is definitely needed next year (that really stuck out like a sore thumb with the album category) but yeah, an enjoyable night otherwise.

Re the first paragraph I maybe haven't been in enough threads to see a pattern. Just saying what I read in here.

it's only me who just said that and i already said i misspoke, it is just tirinnggg to see constant criticism of lizzo for stereotypical reasons and although you might of not meant it like that other people CERTAINLY do. i see now what you were getting at but in this thread i have just seen you constantly pick at her (for reasons a lot earlier on that actually hurt me quite personally oop so i'm letting out a bit of rage here)! there's plenty of people i dislike but i just don't comment other than the odd joke, you have the right to comment if you don't like someone but people will comment back in defence (nd i'm a staunch lizzo stan)

It’s not on here, it’s more in general - often particularly seen in reality shows

Thankfully I don't venture in there much lol.

My favourite performances were Stormzy and Dave two very powerful performances !

EDIT: I enjoyed Lizzo and Billie as well .

It's not the comments on here as such, it's more an attitude that often establishes itself in the way that the british public vote for things and comment online. It's incredibly frequent that a confident black woman is booted out of reality tv shows early on, regardless of levels of talent.

Wow what a great Brits! Particularly the performances such as Dave, Stormzy, Billie and Lizzo, but a great set of winners as well - so so pleased for Dave

I really enjoyed tonight’s show much more than I imagined so I’m never gonna judge books by covers again. Nice to see a lot of winners too spread out amongst category’s.

And very interested to see how this shakes up the chart on Friday. Especially the albums!

Yeah it started off fairly mediocre, and I still wish there was more female representation but Harry, Lizzo and Billie were so good. Dave and Stormzy were surprisingly brilliant and offered important performances.
