November 14, 200618 yr The Bananarama version of Last Thing on my Mind was FAR superior to the awful Steps one, Ryan - check out the original.... Other shocking covers - All Saints - Under the Bridge Girls Aloud - ALL their covers, especially the Pretenders one Atomic Kitten - every cover they massacred touched - especially the Blondie one :puke2: :puke2: Madonna - Imagine (flat as a pancake)

Daphne & Celeste - Schools Out 04. A1 - Take On Me 03. Kylie Minogue - Got To Be Certain 02. Girls@Play - Respectable 01. Westlife - The Rose A truly shocking list indeed, Daphne and Celeste merit a special kicking for destroying the Alice Cooper classic..... Lolly and A1 as well come to think of it... Awful... Add Madonna's "American Pie" - utter PISH, even she thought better of putting it on her GHV2 compilation album despite it getting to No1.... Agree with Russ on his list as well, esp "Under the Bridge", I actually found that offensive, it's one of my fave RHCP songs (from my fave RHCP album..) of all time...... I heard some pretty crappy version of "Love Will Tear Us Apart" on the soundtrack to the film "Red Road" as well, dunno who it's by, but they want shooting..... Orgy's pretty c**p version of "Blue Monday".... Marilyin Manson's destruction of "Tainted Love" and "Personal Jesus" seriously got me disliking him as well... Oh, and just about ALL these crappy Yank bands who have ever disgraced the good name of The Smiths' "How Soon Is Now"..... <_< Oh, and Blue (I think it's them anyway, it could've been 5ive, I really dont know how to tell these utterly generic, identitkit, bland boy-bands apart...) doing their hideous worst on Queen's "We Will Rock You"..... I really dont like cover versions very much, just on a general principle, it has to be something truly exceptional to make me sit up... Good covers - Pixies - Into the White (Neil Young) Jesus and Mary Chain - Surfin' USA (Beach Boys) HIM - Don't Fear the Reaper (Blue Oyster Cult) Placebo - Running Up That Hill (Kate Bush) Faith No More - War Pigs (Black Sabbath) Orbital - Doctor Who (shoulda been used as the theme for the new series...) Marilyn Manson - Sweet Dreams (the only time he got it right..) - (Eurythmics) NIN - Dead Souls (Joy Division) Anthrax/Public Enemy - Bring the Noise Aerosmith/Run DMC - Walk This Way
November 14, 200618 yr That was 5ive that did We Will Rock You. They were the only pop band that I ever really liked from that era but that was appaling!
November 14, 200618 yr That was 5ive that did We Will Rock You. They were the only pop band that I ever really liked from that era but that was appaling! Yeah, wasn't sure... Like I say, I get mixed up.... Only thing I remembered for sure was utterly despising it..... And it aint as if I'm a fanatical Queen fan or anything..... It was just p***-poor....
