November 17, 200618 yr Pink is the worst, she only uses the lesbo thing for promotion but she´s not. I wasn´t aware Kate Bush was. Where´s Elton John?
November 17, 200618 yr Kate Bush isn't... but she's sang quite a few gay love songs - she loves the gays, does Kate. :P Elton John - I don't think you can count him, really - he didn't come out, officially til after he was divorced in the mid 80s and he's never really sang about gay love at all.....

November 19, 200618 yr Kylie had her experimental album (Impossible Princess) and madonna had hers (Ray of light). These are hardly your typical camp albums. Dont get me wrong. I agree that madonna was one of the first main acts to make being gay more accetable but I think with this new album its more pushed down people throats just like kylie did with light years. And to say that without Madonna there would be no kylie is just rubbish. Fact is they are both gay icons and loved by the whole gay scene I don't understand the link between being Gay and campness. As a Gay man, I'm not camp, nor overtly macho, I'm just comfortable being me. I am a fan of, for example Julian Clary, who I think we can safely call camp  I can thoroughly recommend his autobiography (by the way). "A Young Man's Passage". So, I have no issues or hang ups about how people express themselves, it's sad when other [third party] people do. Kate Bush, for example - gay audiances can identify with as she is kinda on the outside of the mainstream and doing it her way and yet very successfully. But I voted for Judy Garland. Surprised her daughter wasn't listed as well.

Well, there was "Nikita", which is actually a Russian boy's name (forget the Luc Besson film, trust me, it's a guy's name in Russia....). But he completely pu$$ied out when the video came around and got some bloody bint to be the 'Nikita' of the song title... Prick....
November 19, 200618 yr Cher! - I am shocked Cher has never been mentioned. I wanted to be her when I was a little boy! LOL
November 19, 200618 yr Cher! - I am shocked Cher has never been mentioned. I wanted to be her when I was a little boy! LOL Cher??? Most gay people I know think she's a joke and just tries a bit too hard to get the gay audience....  Just cant understand her tbh, she spends most of her career being this cliched 'rock chick', then tries to become some sort of "Gay Icon" when she saw how well it worked for Madonna... And the gay community just falls for this pathetic bandwagon jumper hook, line and sinker...

I think its because allot of her songs are about overcoming heart ace and defeating the odds. Picking yourself up "you can make it" sorta stuff - That's her gay attraction to me. Also her outrageous costumes and sharp tongue. The style of music she has done since "Believe" is patheticly aimed for the gay audience, but its nice she gave something back to. I really like her. Ironic really, she obviously didn't need to do this whole deliberately 'camp' act then did she...?
November 20, 200618 yr   It's so amusing that you find the stuff that isn't directly geared at capturing the gay audience as being the most gay-friendly.... Ironic really, she obviously didn't need to do this whole deliberately 'camp' act then did she...? Quite true. If you look at her music videos like "If I Could Turn back time" they are shockingly camp. Her bouncing about the place in a leatard (about a decade and a half before Madonna), sailor's screaming and chearing whilst Cher straddles...a cannon! Yup, this beyoch is camp as t!ts lol
November 21, 200618 yr to be fair, Cher didn't wear a leotard in that video - she wore a body stocking and a leather biker's jacket.... the usual Cher cobwebs-and-bottletops outfit. I can't ever think of Cher without recalling her movie 'Mask'..... where she played a gutsy mother looking after her facially-disfigured son. Problem was, even then, she was scarier looking than the son!
