Obviously it's in The Sun so to be taken with a massive pinch of salt for now, but there's reports today that JLS are following McFly, Jonas Brothers and Westlife by potentially reconvening for a new tour in 2020.

This week incidentally marked the 10th anniversary of their debut album being released (which makes me feel so old, I remember it coming out in my first year of uni and going to their first tour at Hammersmith Apollo! Where have 10 years gone?).

I'd love to see them do something to mark that, I was a big fan of them the first time round. Nice lads, great live and some amazing pop songs, and I always thought they got given a rawer deal by people once The Wanted and One Direction emerged.

A mini-top 5 rate as well, whilst we're here:

1. Everybody In Love

2. Eyes Wide Shut

3. One Shot

4. Love You More

5. Hottest Girl In The World

Please god NO, did like their first 2 singles 'Beat Again' & 'Everybody In Love', but it was all down-hill from there music wise, their debut album was awful & never bothered buying any of their other albums. Their songs just got worse and worse, they had so much potential, I was hoping that they were gonna be a UK version of 'Boyz II Men' with some great R&B bangers & soulful ballads, but instead they went into the rubbish generic pop direction 'The Club Is Alive' as an example (which has aged horribly) like all their releases & boring plodding ballads.

They were very much of that time & doubt anything new will change that.

my top 5:

they never released a good song :D

I often welcome bands reforming but i don't see JLS reforming being successful.

All the number 1s they had this decade haven't aged that well have they?

I can see a reunion tour being very successful! As for new material, I'm not so sure, but there is a LOT of nostalgia for them from people my age.

Especially at this time of year when JLS, or rather JB more specifically, is very much in season :kink:

Yes omg yes. I hope this is true. They are an amazing band and it would

be great to see them back together

That never gets old bless him

Oritse aside who's had a rough couple of years as well publicised, they've all stayed quite omnipresent and well liked in different avenues, Aston on Strictly and on stage with his solo career and West End stuff, and Marvin and JB with presenting and DJing/farming (He supplies turkeys for Jade and Perrie from Little Mix!)

I think if they followed Steps' pattern by rejigging the best of they did before they split as an 'Ultimate Collection' maybe with some 'reworked' versions to accompany the tour that would do well.

She makes me wanna

One shot

Eyes wide shut

Everybody in love

Beat Again

Hold me down

Take a chance on me (still a bop)

Do you feel what I feel

Love you more

Proud

Hottest Girl In The World

The club is alive (ewww)

'Hold Me Down' The 'Evolution' album was probably their best work for me but it came so far into their career when really it should have been the album they did after 'Outta This World'. Deserved a better commercial reception anyhow. 'Take A Chance On Me' is indeed still a bop and on my 'Songs for the Wintry Months' playlist when this time of year rolls round. Loved the video for that one too!
Take A Chance On Me is probs my fav of theirs too!
I was never a fan as such but I always thought they were a really decent boyband. Some catchy songs and they put on good performances on X Factor with dance moves etc. They were way better than One Direction and The Wanted who had no stage presence whatsoever as a boyband, just stood walking about the stage not even in time or rhythm...

It's happening - their socials have just updated to a recreated shot of their first album cover - and a lot of people (myself included) got this e-mail - presumably before we were supposed to - today!

@1227648345474203649

take it back

seriously though, their music was VERY much of its time. I don’t see how they fit in today’s landscape and imo they’d be lucky to even reach Busted’s levels of success when they returned
