Considering that they have filmed footage of them from that photoshoot, I'm not sure why they don't create a music video for Not Tonight Santa just to give it a little extra attention!

Well the link has been deleted and there's no sign of it going on sale today

A mock up of the vinyl temporarily showed up on Amazon:

Unfortunately I think it's something that they've either decided to postpone or cancel? And that they didn't intend to accidentally tease it with the Linkfire link. My theory is that its release date was going to be 6th December, but for some unknown reason they didn't go live with a preorder. I can't imagine that they'd suddenly announce it and put it immediately on sale.

The vinyl in the mock up seems to suggest that there were going to be 5 tracks on one side of it - which could mean that this album would have had more than the original 8 tracks? :o

Who knows what's happened but it'll be a shame if it is cancelled, after knowing that it was meant to exist. :( If it's not happening this year, I hope it's the case that they've decided to hold back on it for Christmas 2025 instead

Side note: The "Christmas 'Round At Ours" title - it never initially had an apostrophe in front of Round, either on the Chemistry CD or digitally. However the song title actually has been changed on streaming, to have the apostrophe. Judging by Last.fm it might have happened as early as August of this year. Curious!

Maybe it’ll be released on the 13th, isn’t that the week for Christmas week?

I hope so, but it feels very late for them to announce it!

The international posting dates on their webstore (to try and guarantee arrival before Christmas) have passed now.

It is most probably due to Liam’s death. I can understand that Cheryl don’t want any commercial/festive announcement in a time of mourning, even if it’s just a niche re-release.

We’ll get it next year.

Hopefully it is released for next year and not just completely abandoned. This truly would have been the best time for it's release with everything that has happened this year re the tour and celebrations of Sarah!

Do think they are really missing a trick not calling it Christmastry though

It has probably cancelled because sadly I'll stand by you flopped 😭.

If I'm a betting man I'd say they're probably saving it for next Christmas more than likely after the Chemistry 20th anniversary release. If memory serves me correctly, something similar happened with All Saints' first album and The Corrs' Talk On Corners appearing on vinyl, they were both initially on the release list for National Album Day last year but then were removed and have both come out this year instead. Nothing to panic about just yet anyway.

Flopped feels like a strong word! The fact that it was only released to buy as a download (which is a niche way of consuming music these days) and crucially not receiving any meaningful support from streaming platforms, meant it was inevitably going to struggle in a chart that is almost entirely geared towards streaming. I'll Stand By You reaching #1 on iTunes, and #2 in the sales and download charts, is a better indication of how it was received (within the context of how downloads perform).

Also, I don't think how a charity download single performed would have any direct correlation towards the label's decisions about any future Girls Aloud products.

I forgot about that re: All Saints and The Corrs! I'll try not to lose faith yet. I'll spend most of my 2025 yearning for it though :teresa:

You're quite right Jay, they're well established enough now that their label has a got more realistic view of who's investing in these reissues we've had so far. Record labels have their idiotic moments true, but there is still common sense at play.

I think it was middle of January this year we got the announcement about What Will The Neighbours Say so I fully expect we'll get it around then if they're going for a March release with Chemistry.
