Club Bizarre is officially re-open! For the landmark tenth volume we will be starting the new decade by revisiting one that began 30 years ago, yes that's right, for the first time in Club Bizarre history we are doing a decade special and firstly it's time to return to...

the 90s. :cheer:

The decade produced some of the all-time greatest hits including 'Children' by Robert Miles which was voted the Ultimate Dance Song in last year's poll. But in this contest we're looking for hidden gems; songs that aren't so well known today or perhaps didn't even chart at all.

Please read the rules before submitting.

RULES

• Your song must be within the dance umbrella. Any style of dance will be permitted so hopefully we don't have to veto anything on grounds of it not fitting the genre.

• Your song must have been released between 1 January 1990 and 31 December 1999. Some leeway may be given (I.e. if a song was released in Europe in 1999 before its 2000 UK release, or if a song recorded in 1989 was given a 1990 UK release) so please justify if it's not immediately obvious from a Discogs check.

• Your song must not be well-known to the Club Bizarre community.

• Absolutely no songs that made it to the semis of Ultimate Dance will be accepted (see semis pt.1, semis pt.2 and final results).

• Absolutely no songs previously sent to Club Bizarre will be accepted (archive here).

• We also advise against sending any other UK top 10 hits (these will be vetoed unless they're really obscure today), or former BJSC entries (any hits or recent entries will get vetoed, if it was a flop years ago we'll probably let it slide as per vol.9).

• Popular artists from the era will not necessarily get vetoed if the song is deemed to be fairly obscure (although if a good few of you attempt one artist we will probably go on the side of veto).

• If you are in doubt about your song, send it anyway with some justification, and we will let you know if it has been vetoed and give you the chance to re-confirm. Entries will be vetted by Lewis and myself.

• You must PM me (danuary) with the following details:

Artist Name:

Song Title:

Audio Link:

Finally, this is an anonymous contest. You may not reveal or hint at your entry until after I have revealed it in the results thread.

You have a whole week to decide on your entry. Confirmations will close Saturday 11th January, 23:59 GMT.

Now let's remind ourselves of why we are here tonight, with Late Night Alumni and Lumïsade's 'Empty Streets' which won vol.9.

The big question now is will I announce myself as the repeat winner (it has happened before to Dobbo and Mattias!), or will it be one of you? Only one song can join Blümchen's 'Boomerang' in being the 2nd Club Bizarre winner to date from the 90s.

Let the confirmations begin! :cheer:

After being one of the very few people who didn't pick a legit 90s song for the eurodance theme, good to be forced into digging in the archives this time :P

I have one idea immediately but I don't want to go with it unless I really find nothing else, as I have already used the song in something else on the site in the past ~ so shall get searching soon. Hype anyways B-)

Wow at us being up to the milestone 10th edition of this now. Already caught up with the number of Nuggets rounds!

just confirmed with what i was gonna send to BJSC but you can have it here instead x

Omg I might just do the same.

Anyone is ready for [redacted] epic?!

Awkward if you're the only [redacted] song and it's supposed to be anonymous :kink:

Actually. I might have, need a think.
