May 8, 20205 yr The remix will be credited in America so Nicki would be getting her first #1 too, which would feel quite weird considering the original still feels a lot bigger and it doesn’t feel like a Nicki song at all
May 8, 20205 yr The same amount of versions of Savage were released this week. Remix explicit and remix clean. The "original version" of the Say So remix came out on Friday and therefore is outside the tracking range for the impending Hot 100. It's completely fair. Doja has bundle sales as well added to Say So on top of the different remix releases as well so it gives her an advantage. I wasn't aware the version released today didn't count for this week though. Like I said either way I will be happy for both . In an ideal word the one that ends up at number 2 will go number 1 the following week.
May 8, 20205 yr Author I would rather see 'Say So' at #1 than 'Savage' based on the solo version but it'll be a little bittersweet as in terms of the remixes Megan's is much better than Doja's  it's cool that they'll both be top 2 though.
May 9, 20205 yr Author It's not clear yet if Nicki will even be credited on it, it'd be kind of hilarious if the song did hit #1 but Nicki wasn't credited on it so it still didn't officially count as a #1 for her
May 10, 20205 yr Cardi never needed 10 remix for number one :cheeseblock: :kink:Actually Bodak Yellow had a remix which helped it go number 1 just saying . ^_^ Edited May 10, 20205 yr by troylovesmusic
May 10, 20205 yr Author Actually Bodak Yellow had a remix which helped it go number 1 just saying . ^_^ Not that there's anything wrong with releasing remixes but I don't recall any remixes of 'Bodak Yellow' having any particularly significant impact for her?
May 10, 20205 yr Not that there's anything wrong with releasing remixes but I don't recall any remixes of 'Bodak Yellow' having any particularly significant impact for her? Never said there was anything wrong with it ? And yeah there was one with Kodak Black (The guys rap flow she copied and who inspired the song) It helped propel it to number 1 . May 10, 20205 yr Never said there was anything wrong with it ? And yeah there was one with Kodak Black (The guys rap flow she copied and who inspired in the song) It helped propel it to number 1 . Would’ve gone number 1 without the remix. I like it also never had remix :)
May 10, 20205 yr Would’ve gone number 1 without the remix. I like it also never had remix :)Most likely but it did help it . Edited May 10, 20205 yr by troylovesmusic

And yeah there was one with Kodak Black (The guys rap flow she copied and who inspired the song) It helped propel it to number 1 . That comment was more aimed at fans for hilson implying that this #1 for Megan/Doja is somehow less valid than Cardi's because of being boosted by remixes :P The Kodak remix (and another remix with Messiah) would obviously have had some small impact (highly doubt they would have made the difference between #1 and #2 but I don't remember how close it was to be fair) but they're not comparable at all to the remixes for 'Savage' and 'Say So' considering those songs wouldn't have even been close to #1 without their remixes. Those 2 remixes have a combined ~15 million views on YouTube and ~33 million plays on Spotify to date (with neither ever making even the top 200 on US Spotify), the 'Savage' remix has very similar numbers to that already in just over one week and the 'Say So' remix is around halfway to those numbers already too. Again not saying that makes Megan and Doja's achievements less valid, it's just that their remixes were clearly much more important than the 'Bodak Yellow' ones.

My comment was more about Nicki having to go for number 1 by jumping on successful songs. Megan getting Beyoncé is not less valid and is actually more valid than Doja/Nicki as it’s raising money for charity. It’s just Nicki and Doja have now released 2 different versions of the remix to try getting Nicki a number one which is a slight eye roll and makes it less valid.
May 11, 20205 yr So pleased it's #1!!! The remix (at least, the one that counted last week :kink:) did not deserve it but nevertheless I'm glad it has a #1 peak to its name.
May 11, 20205 yr Author RIP to all the memes about Nicki Minaj not having a #1 hit. They've been fun. :snif: Happy to see the song getting the #1 spot tho :cheer:
May 11, 20205 yr Is Nicki getting credited then on Billboard? I'm very happy to see this go #1 over there anyway, it's tied with Godzilla with my favourite song of the year so far.
May 11, 20205 yr Yaasss, so glad for her - hope her success continues! Such a refreshing presence in music.
