November 16, 200618 yr Author Dramatic Soprano A powerful, rich, emotive voice The Dramatic Soprano is the heaviest or most darkly-coloured of the soprano types. The Dramatic Soprano uses a heavier tone colour and uses more power throughout her range. Heaviest and most powerful soprano voice; They have more stamina to sing over large orchestras. Range E3 to C6 So in other words, the Dramatic Soprano voice is the heaviest and the deepest and darkest in the soprano types and also uses the most power. In Anastacia’s case, it’s deep, dark, powerful and also raspy-sounding Anastacia is also able to hit low notes in the Spinto Soprano type. The Spinto Soprano is edgy and strong and can hold notes for a longer period of time without vibrato. Spinto Soprano examples, Christina Aguilera She can also hit the low notes in soprano types such as; Mezzo Soprano’s (Aretha Franklin, Celine Dion, Beyonce, Whitney Housten) Anastacia is also able to hit notes in the Coloratura range, although it isn’t her voice type. Coloratura examples, Mariah Carey And last but not least, Contraltos, the lowest of all female type voices. It’s a very rare type of voice, deep and dark. In the Contraltos, Anastacia can hit the low notes such as E3 & D3 Chest Voice Anastacia sings in chest voice: C3 D3 E3 F3 G3 A3 B3 bass/baritone (lowest octave to sing in) C2 D2 E2 F2 G2 A2 B2 Anastacia sings in chest voice NOT bass/baritone. The reason why I posed the baritone is to show that anastacia is just one level above the deepest singing level, a easy way to put it. But who knows if anastacia can hit notes in bass/baritone. Most opera singers sing in the chest voice. Octave Range Well there aren’t many reports on Anastacia’s octave range, it’s about 3.5 +

November 16, 200618 yr :o Your more than amazing JOSH! Thank you very much! But you know: I read ( on AFU, on a post by Brian) that she sings in head voice! That the high note from the YNBA performance, for example, 'comes from the head' Edited November 16, 200618 yr by _LuÃs_
November 16, 200618 yr From the head of her voice I think he means (top of her voice). Never heard of anyone singing with their head before
November 16, 200618 yr Author :o Your more than amazing JOSH! Thank you very much! But you know: I read ( on AFU, on a post by Brian) that she sings in head voice! That the high note from the YNBA performance, for example, 'comes from the head' Hmm... head voice? Nah she deffinatly sings in chest voice, it's obvious. I did try and do some research into the YNBA note. The note is either a C6 or a E6 which is very powerfull, although, if you listen carefully you will here vibrato near the end of the note. If anastacia sung like that in all her songs all the time her voice would be very badly damaged
November 16, 200618 yr Oh yeah. She def shouldn't do that too often. It's fab on occasion like she did with YNBA but she has to be careful.
November 16, 200618 yr You know one thing I don't like about Anastacia: it's the fact that she seems to be proud that she never had singing lessons... and I think that not a thing to be proud of! -_- She definitely should have singing lessons so she could be able to understand and control the amazing voice she has! -_- :)
November 17, 200618 yr Surely she must have had some kind of voice training? Wouldn't you need to learn how to breathe properly etc? She definately has such a powerful gift. I remember discussing this on afu and I uploaded the "high/low" note interview which was on the radio a while back. Anyone know what interview I'm talking about? It's great.. during the interview they are fooling around and they see what is the highest, and the lowest notes they can hit. It's very amusing :P Anyway, thanks for your info Josh... Ana definately has a very powerful instrument :)
November 17, 200618 yr I'd be surprised if Ana didn't take any singing lessons EVER.. and if she didn't..well, then we have another proof on how amazing she is :D
November 17, 200618 yr her mom was a singer. If u look @ the pic in the L@L program u'll find a pic of Ana ,Shawn her brother & her mom giving them a singing lesson.
September 14, 200717 yr Yeh me too. Can someone scan it for us? :P yeh, and i want that interview that was on the radioo!!!! pleaseeeee
September 14, 200717 yr Erm. Ana probably did or does have a singing coach.. The coach must be embarassed though  standing next to ana while she's singing better that you
