It was another close call but Clocks just misses out on the semi final, leaving an even battle of a single apiece from Parachutes, Rush... and X&Y battling it out for glory. Clocks was the third single release from A Rush of Blood to the Head and gave them a third hit from the album as it peaked at number 9 in the UK and 29 in the US Hot 100. It was apparently inspired by the band, Muse, and while it fits the style of the album, it has a more moody, almost psychedelic feel that certainly ups the ante along with its lyrics of urgency and contrast which are amongst their best written. It is mainly known for its piano riff (chord progression of of E♭ - B♭m - Fm for any piano geeks x) that is still widely sampled and remixed to this day and won the Grammy for Record of the Year, it is still considered one of their signature songs and all I can say is it's certainly worthy of that title, flawless song and would've certainly been a worthy finalist had I not spotted an opportunity to go tactical the field been less strong </3

Glad Trouble came higher than I’d have expected. Nice top 3 but want Scientist vs Fix You as the final!

I considered tactically voting for 'The Scientist' but I couldn't bring myself to so went with 'Yellow'. x
