Should climb even higher next week :cheer:

Scotty ... I wouldnt' get too excited yet.

I collected the DVD single on the way home from work at HMV & the Guy who served me nearly died of shock when he saw the cover on the single... couldnt' believe that it was Rob ( in a dress - with long hair & long nails & lipstick )-( I think he quitely fancied him ) & did not know that he had a single out this week & he works in the shop.

They had only two singles on the display shelves ( dont know if it was the only two left & the rest were sold - or - that they had only got two copies & had not sold any )... so you see pessamistic & optomistic in the one breath . I just give up on the whole bloody thing...

I bought two copies of the singles last week with the different mixes .... I hate the Dark Horse Mix & I love the Kris Menace Mix ... so there you go... cant please us all.

I hope he does not release anymore from the album as I am P****D off at the whole thing... all these releases have made a right Dogs Dinner of the whole album, . the best track ' The Actor 'has not been released at all & would have made a great single if it was released early on., but what do I know ... I am only a bloody fan.

Bye.............

There were about fifty copies of it still on the shelf in Asda in Wigan - not sure if thats a good sign or a bad sign. Most of the singles either side of it had sold out.

Kathy

Most people on other forums seem to be having trouble getting a copy as it is sold out in most places, obviously not enough copies were shipped out.

Tell them to try ASDA in Wigan.... looks like they have plenty....

I didn't even know Asda still sold singles. I have an Asda about 12 miles from me. I could buy my Robbie singles there instead of on line. From Jersey.

Lets' face it ... it's nothing to do with Rudebox ... it's a full on Anti Robbie Williams campaign by the UK press & many others... all down to nothing but jealousy....so bear with it......

Its the guy in the Big House at the Top of The Hill syndrome........

Things will be better in time......

Sorry - disagree - the UK press has been very kind and sympathetic to him regarding his rehab. If anything - it will have improved sales of his records and it should eventually go to number one. There is only one paper that seems to be digging in to him about his obvious publicity stint and thats the Mirror. From what I read on line - the Mail, Star and Sun have been favourable to him. The press will always be on the side of him ... after all ... he is today's Cheeky Chappie! A modern day Norman Wisdom ... and everybody loved Norman Wisdom.

Kathy

His obvious publicity stunt?

I apologise profusely. It obviously wasn't.

Are you a fan of Robbie in any shape or form Kathy? This is a fan forum.

Hi Kathy

No offence but am I reading the same papers.... the only people with any sympathy in the papers are the general public who leave comments, ... the papers themselves have been having digs at him for months & have knocked him in one fashion or another & have also ensured that they continually emphasise how bad Rudebox is.... . The press in the UK do NOT like Rob & they obviously could not care less how bad they have made themselves look in the eyes of people outside the UK.

The only paper in my opinion that has given Rob genuine support is his own local paper The Sentinel & T.God they showed great sympathy & respect to his family.

Rob is a very modern, talented & brilliant artist & is appreciated by people in so many Countries... British people should be real proud of him.

Hmm, how strange. Clearly you are reading completelly different papers to the rest of us. It has only been in the last few days when he came out that the papers were nice, saying it was nice to see him looking well, apart from the Star. But when he went in and for the last 3 weeks and months before, he has been treated like $h!t by the press, everyone is aware of this. I suggest before making such strong accusations you know the facts first.

However, if you seriously believe what the deluded press say, that it was a publicity stunt, then if I were you I would'nt spend the time of day posting in a forum for someone who would do such a sick thing.

In all seriousness - I used to be a Robbie fan ... oddly enough - immediately after he left Take That. There are some of his songs I really like - Rock DJ is one of the best songs (and videos) ever! His collaboration with Kylie on Kids was tremendous. But I have gone off him over the last few years. I find his arrogance so annoying and yet I do realise - his very arrogance is one of his characteristics that make his fans love him so much. But lets be objective about this ... if any other artist had tried to release Rudebox (and my niece let me borrow it and listen to it - Lovelight - I really did like - ) it would never have got a release.

Sorry guys to have been so flippant - I do realise that it can be hurtful. But hey! I just think life should be about fun! You've got to take the ups with the downs. Surely Rob is strong enough to realise this. And ... in all honesty - its not as if he reads these boards. I have had a private message asking me to leave these boards and after this post - I will. But I thought this was a democracy. I think the best thing for Robbie would be to have one true friend ... and I don't think he has that right now - just a band of liggers and hangers on who tell him what he wants to hear - which isn't always the best thing - they are doing him more harm than good. Sometimes he seems like a real nice guy and then he goes off and does something to make me change my mind.

I apologise again - and I won't come here again.

Each to their own. I happen to adore Rudebox.

Nothing you said is hurtful to me. I'm just curious as to why you'd want to spend time in a fan forum for an artist you have no time for. I can't stand 80% of the artists with Forums on BJ. So I don't visit them. Why would I? Life's too short to spend criticising acts you don't like. Go support the acts you do like (which from your other posts appears to be TT).

Actually the band I really like is not featured here - I have to go to IMDb for that - they are a real musical group - and you're right! Goodbye!

Kathy... You see I dont get this... If you really believe in what you say why do you keep apologising.... something funny in that as far as I am concerned. I would much prefer for you say what you think & stck to it rather that apologising each time.

I happen to think that Rob is a nice guy, is a great talent & well worth the money to see him live. I really like his music & it makes me happy to listen to it as well as music from a lot of other artists.

This forum is called the Robbie Williams forum & even though all of us on this forum have one thing in common ROB, it does not mean that we agree on everything about him but we all do like him as a person otherwise there is no point in us being members.

I may not always like everything that Rob does but I respect him as a fantastic artist & I appreciate the fact that I am allowed to use this forum & that the members of this forum are kind enough to share their Videos, music & opinions with me & in return I respect their opinions & knowing the fact that they all really like Rob I personally would not say anything about him that may offend them.

You may be better off taking an interest in some other artist that can live up to your rather perfect expectations.... . Robbie Williams is as you see him & gives no false illusions as being anything other than what he is... he is honest & does not try to hide anything & the only harm that he does is to himself & I think he is entitled to the support of the British people & press. You say life should be fun.... well Rob is as good humoured as you will get & under the criticism that he has to live with I am surprised that he is so cheerful.

.... maybe he would be better off being like the Gallaghers & tell the press & others to F**K off like they do.

Yes goodbye!

Ok... now... how many Goodbye's are actually going to get.... Im counting....

If any other artist tried to release Rudebox, they would have it released and it would have more probably than not been a huge success with every critic and newspaper, magazine and tabloid claiming it to be the best since sliced bread, brilliant, a tour de force but because it was a Robbie Williams album it got slated just because it was Robbie Williams, the panning of this album had nothing to do with the actual album and music on it but rather the artist it was by. Whether some UK fans will like to admit or not, the fact is the UK has not been kind to Rob, especially not in recent years and even more so in recent months. They do have something against him and are on a mission to bring him down at any cost which is why the press has been digging into him and him checking into rehab was the best news they could have heard, they were probably waiting for something like that for 10 years and so the knives really came out and they weren't taking any prisoners. They dug into him well and good and only eased up a bit now when he got out. Sales figures in the UK have been slipping and so that only points to the fact that his home country is cooling off to him and basically want to push him out. Shame, because he is one of, if not, THE best things the UK has and they should be proud of him instead of tearing him down. He is a rarity in the music industry. There is no one like him. He is a complete original, an extremely talented lyricist, songwriter, can do any genre of music and do it well, has the charisma, personality and looks plus is an amazing live performer. All that should be celebrated instead of slated. Atleast he's got the rest of Europe who recognize the true talent that he is and do celebrate it.

As for the best for Robbie, none of us and you included are in a position to comment on what's best for him as we don't know him and we are absolutely not in the position to comment on his friends, how many true friends he has or hasn't got etc etc .... We don't know Rob, we don't know how many close friends he has, how many distant friends he has, how many acquaintances he has, so what gives you or anyone else the right to comment on that ?! You have made assumptions based on what you see in the media and we all know there's only one angle the press has when it comes to Rob and it is anything but favourable. They have him pegged as a certain character - arrogant, egotistic etc etc - and sadly lots of people believe that and take it as gospel. They accomplished the same with Rudebox the album, they influenced people's decisions with their comments and people believed it without even hearing the album and giving it a chance.

She's Madonna is the 23rd best selling track on earth (and the 3rd best selling new release), according to mediatraffic. It sold 109,000 units last week. Not bad for a song with no promo and with no US release. Btw, this is mainly based on Airplay, so actual sales could be higher.
