Its still No 2 in the European Airplay Charts.... If the figures above apply to the UK.... forget it.... over..... done with....dont go down that road.... It will probably drop like a stone this week in the Sunday Charts... I think it only got where it did last week due to the effort a lot of people put in by buying multiple copies etc .... so I think it was really hard to judge how well it actually did.

And as far as the Irish Charts are concerned.... I heard it said on that Search For a Star ( or whatever its called ) on RTE on Sunday that the various acts would get a chance to have their song on the download charts & I just gave up at that stage. I mean how can you take the charts seriously after that & its really the reason that it probably wont worry Rob too much either... The S**T that is appearing in the charts in both the UK & Ireland is rubbish.

Did you hear the guy from Wexford taking off the Oasis song.. I nearly tore my ears off.. it was an insult to the Gallaghers & I dont even like them personally but I do respect their music big time.

Forget the Irish & UK charts ... people seem to have lost the ability to appreciate good artists like Rob & only want the artists that put out silly videos & songs that you forget after a week - nothing of substance anymore.

You may not agree with me ... but there you go... :

Oh I agree completelly.

Oh I agree completelly.

Hey.. Well done... I thought it was only me..... the only one I have ever heard doing a good job of singing both OASIS & U2 songs is Rob , most other people are rubbish at it as they just done have the voice or stage presence to carry it off.

The Irish charts are embarrasing... my God my skin crawls when I hear it...

Oh & BTW .. The next thing I expect to see turning up on that show on RTE on Sunday night is Louis Walsh seeing as that he has been sacked TBTG by Simon Cowell & ITV who seem to have developed better taste at long last... better late than never...... Can you just see Louis with his smug face sitting beside that Lollipop Stick Linda Martin & Pug Face Brendan Whateverhisface .

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek

Goodnight.... Talk to you tomorrow...... :yahoo:

you know Tessat you and I are very similar. I happen to think that Robbie sings Oasis and U2 songs the best too. I was gobsmacked when I heard his version at Slane.

Robbie has a talent that no one can really equal and I do think that is why he gets rubbished so much, they don't want to accept what they see in front of them.

I really do think it is a shame the way the UK and Ireland have gone, it must be very sad for Robbie to see that happen, he adored Ireland. Although I guess it didn't help his popularity when he promised to do another show at Croke Park and he has not come through with that promise.

I am still holding onto my ticket.

I hope both the UK and Ireland get back on board again.

I have to say when I heard him say that at Croke Park I took it with a pinch of salt really & I dont expect him to come back to do the free concert... not now anyway.. & it does not really matter even if he does not come back as long he is ok.

I really think that his Mum is correct in saying that what caused his problem over the last year was the actual physical aspect of the World Wide tour & how much of a responsibility was on his shoulders to perform & I am not surprised that he was taking medication willy, nilly to get through it.

I am grateful that he came here as I am sure you are & its really good to see him looking so well again & I hope he takes loads of time off this year to just relax & do little & give himself time with his family to get better again. He looked dreadful before he went into Rehab & T.God he looks great again so it definately did him a world of good.

I ignore what the press says & you know his REAL fans will stick by him... Its better to have what I would call quality fans who love his music & the way he entertains us all. Long may he continue.

Im looking forward to getting Mark Ronson's album Versions as Rob does a lovely cover of Only One I Know.

See Ya Jackie

Night......Night.... ;)

I totally agree with both your comments about how Rob does U2 and Oasis songs so well. I didn't give Wonderwall or One the time of day before I heard Rob do them in the Slane concert and he totally blew me away, and made me realize what great songs they were. For me it just sounds wrong when I hear U2 sing One or Oasis sing Wonderwall  .
I'm pretty certain that if Rob takes a break and then makes a back anticipated comback with music like his older stuff ie. rock/pop, then he will be selling by the million in the UK/Ireland once again for sure. The press make out as if he has no fans, if this had've happened with IC and it had've sold only half a million as apose to 1.6m, then it would be a totally different matter cause A) It was a normal enough sounding Robbie album. B| He promoted it very heavily all around the world and C) It was his first studio album in 3 years. But Rudebox is completelly different story altogather, yet the press will glady just compare it away

She's Madonna has dropped like a stone apparently, and is just clinging on in the top 30.

Very disappointing. I hope thats the last single for a long time

I agree with you Scotty, Rob needs to take a long break - I really hope he doesn't bother with a Swing album either.

Contrary to what some may think the world doesn't begin and end in the UK. There is a big world outside the UK, which right now is proving to be a bigger market for him than his own home country.

I am not a bit surprised & was expecting this... it only got to 16 last week due to the fact that so many people on various sites had purchased many copies as a show of support.

The charts at the moment are totally C**P in both Ireland & the UK & I would not lose too much sleep over the fact that this has happened with the single.... There are only a few songs in the charts at the moment worth listening to, the rest are rubbish.

I think its far more interesting that Rudebox the album is still selling nicely ( with still no promo & I am still seeing ads out there for JT's album & others as well ).. it may be making slow progess but if figures given in this site are anything to go by it is getting to the 4 million.

We just need to put up with one more week of slatings by the Mirror & a few more & then they will run out of steam.....,

Just keep in mind the great reviews that the Album got from the Music Mags that know what they are talking about... Im sure Rob must be quietly thrilled with those reviews.

I am not surprise its dropped like a stone, apparently its not even played on the radio, if ever there was a conspired effort to dismiss him this is it. Its not fair, and the Download Charts only make one hit wonders most of the time..The day of the Superstar has truly gone, and you know what the Industry will suffer in the long run.

Most income these days comes from live performing and like an article stated that I posted up a few weeks back you cannot download the live experience. So all these Download wonders will eventually dry up that market at the Industry's cost.

I am pleased that sales of Rudebox are continuing. :yahoo: he's been hard done by this time.

RF4L I do agree that Robbie has other countries where sales are better for him, but unfortunately where we lead, the rest follow, so in time Europe, Australia will go the same way as us. If only he had your country, it would make up for some of the lost sales here, although I have read that Rudebox has done rather well in the US.

I can see your point and in places such as Ireland etc I would agree, but I don't think, even if Rob completelly stops releasing in the Uk (which is obviously not going to happen), I doubt his popularity would be too effected elsewhere. If you look at the UK chart, I am sure that the majority of the songs and acts in general are not successful elsewhere, apart from the US acts. Most European music is not even succesful in the UK so they are totally different when it comes to music when you think about it. I mean just take a look at David Hasselhoff () he has sold something like 8m albums in Germany, and everywhere else just sees him as one big joke

And the UK press are in a league of their own when it comes to being nasty and vindictive. Even when I watch American shows on MTV about celebs they are always saying how bad the British press are and how you don't want to get on their bad side. <_<

I think I tend to agree. It's my impression that the European record buying public are not as 'faddish' as the British. They seem to have much more loyalty to artists. Look at acts like Simply Red and Jamiroquai. As far as I can tell they are still really massive on the continent.

British music buyers have always been much more fickle I think. They buy what the press hypes as being 'the next big thing'.

So I don't think it necessarily follows that his popularity will drop in mainland Europe as it seems to have done in UK/Ireland. I hope not anyway. :cheer:

This is greatest track...

Nelly Furtado takes Norah Jones' top spot on the Euro charts

By Paul Sexton Mar 15, 2007, 20:56 GMT

Nelly Furtado`s 'Loose' (Mosley/Geffen) returned to No. 1 on European Top 100 Albums, ending Norah Jones` five-week tenure with 'Not Too Late' (Blue Note/Parlophone), which dipped to No. 3.

'Loose' led the composite chart for two non-consecutive weeks earlier this year. 'The Sweet Escape' (Interscope) by Gwen Stefani featuring Akon topped Eurochart Hot 100 Singles for a second week.

Furtado`s return to the albums peak was aided by a climb from No. 3 to No. 2 in Germany and 5-3 in the Belgian region of Flanders, while 'Loose' also held at No. 3 in Switzerland and No. 4 in Portugal. Its current single "Say It Right" completed a steady climb into the U.K. top ten, 11-10 in its sixth week. It also debuted at No. 2 in Germany and climbed 6-1 in Switzerland, statistics which fuel a 31-3 jump on the Eurochart. Remarkably, Furtado has two of the top three pan-European singles titles of the week, since its predecessor and former Eurochart No. 1 "All Good Things (Come To An End)" climbed back 6-2 after a 2-1 climb in Norway and No. 9 debut in France.

The Arcade Fire`s 'Neon Bible' (Merge) debuted at No. 2 on Top 100 Albums, posting a series of top ten debuts across Europe. It was in at No. 1 in Ireland, No. 2 in the United Kingdom (on sales of 65,000) and Portugal, No. 3 in Norway, No. 5 in Finland, No. 9 in France and No. 10 in Germany, and climbed 35-5 in Flanders.

Herbert Gronemeyer`s '12' (Capitol) landed on the Europe-wide chart at No. 5, as the German superstar made his customary clean sweep of the G/S/A territories, hitting No. 1 in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

French electro duo Air`s fourth studio album 'Pocket Symphony' (Virgin) was new at No. 7 on Top 100 Albums, starting at No. 7 in the United Kingdom, No. 8 in Germany and France, No. 9 in Portugal, and climbing 31-4 in Flanders. Its predecessor 'Talkie Walkie' opened at No. 1 on Top 100 Albums in February 2004.

The last of four top-ten newcomers on the aggregate album chart was Bryan Ferry`s collection of Bob Dylan covers, 'Dylanesque' (Virgin) at No. 10. That followed a No. 5 start in the United Kingdom on sales of 29,000. In 1973, some 14 months after first charting there as frontman of Roxy Music, Ferry launched a concurrent solo career with a top ten hit version of Dylan`s "A Hard Rain`s A-Gonna Fall."

The classical work 'Duets' (Deutsche Grammophon) by Anna Netrebko and Rolando Villazon arrived on Top 100 Albums at No. 13, after charting in Germany at No. 3 and Austria at No. 4. The album contains interpretations of compositions by Puccini, Donizetti and Verdi.

'The Sweet Escape' snagged a second week atop the Eurochart after moving up 3-2 in the United Kingdom and 6-5 in Ireland, although it fell back 6-8 in Germany.

Also moving well on the collective singles survey was "She`s Madonna" (Chrysalis) by Robbie Williams featuring the Pet Shop Boys, 10-4. It was in at No. 3 in Spain and No. 16 in the United Kingdom, up 5-3 in Holland and 19-5 in Flanders, and held at No. 4 in Germany.
