The 10 Worst Singles Of 2006

With the end of 2006 drawing nigh, it's time to look back at what really sucked in pop this year. We've compiled what we consider to be the worst of the worst, with links to each song's video for for your enjoyment.

10. Panic! At The Disco - "I Write Sins, Not Tragedies"

MoogaBoo Says: "Kids listening to this are going to grow up to be such dickheads."

9. Hinder - "Lips Of An Angel"

J'ason Says: "Hinder is what happens when drunk sluts in South Dakota figure out how to use iTunes."

8. P!nk - "Stupid Girls"

MoogaBoo Says: "Mildly amusing video, but the song itself was a dog. Isn't it kind of unbelievable that P!nk thinks she's better than Jessica Simpson?"

7. Stefy - "Chelsea"

J'ason Says: "When trannies try to break out of the East Village and front rock bands, it never works."

6. Christina Aguilera - "Ain't No Other Man"

MoogaBoo Says: "Despite being the retro junkie that I am, I hate this song. Unispired fashion show music."

5. Morningwood - "The Nth Degree"

J'ason Says: "When trannies try to break out of The Bronx and front rock bands, it never works."

4. Robbie Williams - "Rudebox"

MoogaBoo Says: "Never has a single been so obviously crafted for the lone purpose of keeping someone's name in the tabloids."

3. Nickelback - "Far Away"

J'ason Says: "Can't we just fast forward to the point where Nickelback are this decade's Limp Bizkit already?"

2. Janet Jackson - "So Excited"

MoogaBoo Says: "This is awful in a distinctly 2006 kind of way, so I'm actually suprised it wasn't #1 for 18 weeks."

1. Fergie - "London Bridge"

J'ason Says: "Someday, kids, Fergie will hang."

And one response:

I think "Fergalicious" was worse but agree on Christina Aguilera, Janet Jackson and Nickelback.

I hate myself for saying this but I really don't find Panic At The Disco that offensive. And Rudebox was a career-suicidal single choice but I prefer it to most of his MOR serious singer-songwriter stuff. ^_^

As much as I'd like to see the video already, I'm pleased if they keep us waiting this time.

The Lovelight video seemed so popular in the beginning, but there was this big gap until the release. And by that time it had almost disappeared from the TV screens... So awful timing I would say, let's hope they do better this time. -_-

I guess the relase date will be more towards the end of January, so if they start playing it after the New Year that should do.

What big TV show?

Celebrity Big Brother? Coronation Street? Strictly Come Dancing? What?

Well going by how he feels about the UK I presume it will be Wetten Dass or some other big TV show outside the UK -_-

It would'nt suprise me if he launched Swing 2 outside the UK. Ireland would be the place to do it me thinks :P

btw - the Rudebox album is #50 here this week

Oups... :kink:

Well I'm Irish & I don't even listen to the Irish Charts as they are rubbish ( or the UK charts for that matter - another heap of rubbish ).

That's my giving out speech for the Day - Have a lovely Xmas.

Thanks Tessa. Same to you.

( And it's not your fault. It's Scotty's. -_- )

How many tracks do you need to sell to get to No 1 in the Irish Charts.

By the way - has anyone hear the Mark Ronson / Robbie Williams track ' The only one I know ' due out next year - maybe it's on another thread on this site ????????????????????.

Yeah, I'm not fussed about it tbh. here is a thread ^_^

I don't know how much you have to sell in Ireland  #50 certainly would have low low sales though :(

I recall Ronan Keathing making the top 40 in Ireland with his cover of 'Iris' and it only sold 91 copies

According to the new release schedule he's releasing The 80's next.

Oh btw on a totally irrelevant note, I was listening to the beginning of Good Doctor today, and I dunno whether this has being discussed at all, but does anyone know when he sings Take That, Take That at the beginning whether it has any relevance to the actual Take That?

That is exactly what I mean - Robbie hardly ever sells many records here & the amount of records sold to make up album charts in general are not very high anyway. I think the chart count is totally artificial as heaps of online sales are not taken into consideration. CDwow, etc

Thanks for the link.

Well before Rudebox - He sold more in Ireland per capata then anywhere else in the world apperently

Me and Jup are always saying he sells million on CDWOW. Even the the USA CDWOW, Rudebox was #1

Yeah, there was a rumour about the 80's, but She's Madonna is starting to get airplay and it was on EMI's site that it will be next ^_^

I don't think it has anything to do with TT but i'm sure he thought of them when he wrote the line ^_^

Oh - Im wrong again - I dont know then why the buying public were put off so much this time but I did hear some DJ's on the radio here giving it terrible reviews when it came out first ( and also some smart asses on Amazon UK ) - hope that does not happen again with his next album & that it gets better promotion . It may do better due to the fact that Robbie will no longer be on tour & may be able to promote it more.

Heard She's Madonna on the radio again this morning :cheer:

It sounds SOOOOOO amazing

What do you think the video for She's Madonna will look like? :dancing:
