February 20, 20205 yr I wonder when/if she'll start pushing this properly. I think it needs a feature or a really great video to make any impact
February 20, 20205 yr I feel the video could come on International Woman's Day (8th March) I hope taking it slowly pays off this time round worldwide, a bit like it did for Delicate in the US (tho with everything acc impacting at the same time this round). And that the video is released at the right time (I still can't at Lover's xmas video dropping in August :( ) Anyway I'm prepared for another clusterf*** of a single management cos that's how everything has been since LWYMMD (& low-key Me but that song was f***ed despite how much promotion/support it was gonna get)
February 21, 20205 yr if you mean Me was terrible and never should have been the lead, 100% agree :D will never ever understand how they didn't peak Cruel Summer as lead for this album, was perfect, and it was even summer :D :D :D I really think they need a feature, if they did it for Bad Blood, they could repeat the trick, with a woman feature this time and could be amazing (Lizzo please!!!!)
February 21, 20205 yr Cruel Summer (August 2019) Lover (November 2019) The Man (March 2020) I'm surprised they decided to move things around instead of the usual August lead single release — Cruel Summer was right there and screaming to be released.
February 25, 20205 yr omg video on Thursday!!! I was def not expecting it that soon aha it's out midday our time ahh
February 27, 20205 yr The video is clever/good but I have a huge feeling this will do absolutely nothing :(
February 27, 20205 yr I dunno if it's coz I expected the absolute worst, but I actually really liked the video! AqAJLh9wuZ0
February 28, 20205 yr I love the video and I love the fact that there's no collaboration for the single version. The Man is the strongest with Taylor on her own.
February 28, 20205 yr I agree that the song is great on its own, but I feel like this could’ve been the chance to have a feature and not make it look too desperate that she was trying to get a hit Having a version with 2 or 3 other female artists would’ve been a good statement and helped tbis become a hit, I don’t think it will know unless it gets good airplay in the US

February 28, 20205 yr great video, hope this is really pushed on Spotify but kinda doubt it her Spotify deal seems to be only with the lead single
March 9, 20205 yr What's happening with this? I've been expecting to see it on some playlists by now.
March 12, 20205 yr [/late] but this is a really great music video and it's helped the song to click with me a lot more than it did before (it had already grown on me a bit over time but I've gone from straight up disliking it when I first heard it to it now being probably my 4th favourite song on the album, quite a turnaround x) I don't expect this to become much of a hit though, post-album hits just almost never happen any more unless your name is Ed Sheeran. At least it managed to re-enter the top 100.
March 17, 20205 yr How the era should have went, with the release dates for the first 3 I went with how the original were released & so went with that. April '19 - Cruel Summer June '19 - You Need To Calm Down Aug '19 - The Man Nov '19 - Lover My choices then for possible remaining singles = Early '20 - Cornelia Street Summer '20 - Paper Rings Late/Election season '20 - Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince Edited March 17, 20205 yr by SamJudd
March 17, 20205 yr problem is The Man is not being added to any Spotify playlists, HH still has Only the Young!!! It's a pity cos it's her best song since Blank Space what I don't get is why the video isn't more popular? It debuted at #9 on the Video Streaming top 100 but on week 2 it big dropped to #45 already when Girls Like You come out it was #1 on YT for ages, I was expecting a similar performance x The Man video, but nothing so far, can't believe the little effect it's having and how the GP are totally ignoring it oh and agree a sequence of Cruel Summer as lead single in early summer, followed by The Man before the album and then Lover as Xmas single would have been perfect Edited March 18, 20205 yr by Bjork
April 26, 20205 yr this has been pulled from US radio so its the end of this as a single as of last week. Adore the song. there's a reason I never bothered to comment on the video.
April 26, 20205 yr I was just thinking this might mark the end of the era unless the tour ends up happening. It started a year ago this weekend so at least we got a year out of it! Of course Cruel Summer is begging for a summer single push but I won't get my hopes up :kink:
