Er, yes it was and it’s being Inacted!

Yes you tell him Steve. :)

Er, no it's not. It only has 20% youth support and it was a nebulous proposition, with no clear details. This astroturf movement of the rich never eeeever got enough support for major constitutional change. 51%, as we have seen, is laughable. The smallest shift means there would no longer be a majority - and that is exactly what has happened. We have an extreme brexshit based on lies, broken promises and 51%. It's not enough.

It was a glorified opinion poll to stave off an evil Tory party of the rich split. There was no need to enact it based on 51% and two of four nations.

In a sensible democracy, a referendum on something as important as this would require some combination of

1) A minimum threshold (not just 50% plus one vote)

2) a reasonably detailed plan of how it would be enacted

3) Clear rules to be observed with the power for the courts to annul the vote in the event of a serious breach

4) A confirmatory referendum if the final outcome differed significantly from the original proposal

We had none of that We just had a glorified opinion poll.

Preach!!!!

It's like crying over spilt milk this. It's happened guys. We're out. Now let's all pull together and put the GREAT back in to Gt. Britain and make Brexit a great success. Let's show Macron and Merkel that our decision, whether you agree with it or not, was the right one.

That was all that fault of the Government though and Cameron was in charge then so you can't blame Boris and you can't blame Brexiteers. We just voted.

You do realise that EU wide, support for the EU has risen and parties like AfD and FN who both wanted to follow the UK out the door now both have policies of staying in and reforming?

Brexit has already been such an unmitigated disaster that it has made the European project stronger.

The United Kingdom will be consigned to the history books before the end of this decade. Little England will be surrounded by independent Celtic states in the EU and will come crawling back over broken glass. There’s nothing great about Great Britain

Do you still not understand what the Great bit means?

Of course I can blame them. Their lies won the campaign.

Johnson (and May before him) could have said that the closeness of the result meant that any type of hardline withdrawal should have been ruled out. Johns could have said that the Withdrawal Agreement was so different from anything promised in the referendum that a confirmatory referendum (with proper rules) was essential.

He did none of that so I will continue to blame him.

No. The decision should never have been made based on 51%. I side with Merkel and Macron, not the evil Brexshit disco citizens aris5ocratic far right Tories like Bojo the f***ing Clown and Priti Useless x

"Oh, we destroyed democracy. Get over it. It happened. Move on". Yeah ... no. It should never have happened. We have been shut out of the decision-making process since day one, derided by the far right media, laughed at by gloating brexiters on social media, and only once it started going pear-shaped did your lot start screaming, CoMe toGEthEr. No. You own it. We want nothing to do with it. Enjoy your brexshit.

But if we still disagree with it, how do you expect us to fully support it. I feel like I’ve been let down, so why should I be putting any effort into making Brexit a success?

Again, it’s all about showing Merkel and showing Macron and so on. Childish one up man ship with xenophobic undertones. That’s what Britain had become and it’ll never be ‘great’ again.

Stop telling us to get over it and move on. Let us feel the way we feel. A ‘democratic’ vote doesn’t veto feelings.

You trying to shut down conversation using the cliched 51% (majority!!!1!) argument because you’re so far deep into this dark steamy hole called Johnson’s arse you don’t even know what’s happening anymore. Not that you ever even knew. You enjoy it up there. That’s what this is.

You used to have unlimited access to and enjoy 28 types of fruit. Now it was cut down to just one because, you know, other fruits are coming in and everyone starts forgetting about their own domestic fruit and no one wants it anymore but it’s the most superior one so let’s invent Fruitxit to hide our racism and disdain towards people who want a better life, a life that we all had from the very birth by default and never worked for it one minute, behind immigration and... fishes!!!1

Look up why we are known as Great Britain and what the great bit means before you spout your Sun and Express flag waving bullshit propaganda. It’s called research, something Brexit supporters seem to avoid.

Also, NO.

It wasn't even "our" secision. The papers pumped out propaganda and got a 50/50 split, whoch in any NORMAL democracy would not have resulted in anything. It's no more "our" decision than your farts are "our" farts. We are MORALLY OPPOSED to this evil brexshit. We will NEVER EEEEVER EEEEEEVER "come together" over it, especially after all that has gone on..don't insult us with that fake "feel-good" cooperation bullshir. Where was that the day after you scraped 51%?

At this point, my only criteria for whether Brexit is a success is me being able to continue living in the country I call home with the same freedom and opportunities as before.

Achieving that would not be deemed a real Brexit by others, and so there's no shared objective for us to 'pull together' around here.
