The real reason it has been cancelled is because they cannot have Kellie getting more awards than Danny.

They will prob so the soap awards later in the year.

Fantastic episode tonight! It's amazing to see the improvement in quality by having honest and catchy dialogue, strong performers, moody settings and focused story content. Tonight was classic EastEnders for me. I'd rather not see Sharon and Phil back together, there's too much water under the bridge, but Steve and Letitia are electric together so I wouldn't mind seeing some sort of friendship or bond. I was happy to see them both admit their mistakes to one another, being honest to each other and themselves. Phil is so much of a better character when he's written like a human and not as a thug and a caricature. I've been waiting for these scenes since Christmas.

 

I feel like we'll see Phil buy Sharon the Vic from Mick and Linda. I don't think Sharon is in the right place to be fronting the Vic so I hope they don't rush it, but it would be nice to see her in there again.

Yes the human element of phil is much better than thug phil as he doesn't feel believable anymore as a thug. Good e.g episode tonight in general but once again Kellie bright showing her worth, a brill actress.

It could be good if she did but i cant see her returning. Is Ricky returning?

Why is Mel dead FFS?

I was watching some old clips of EastEnders earlier that featured Kat Slater and I just remembered that Jessie Wallace was suspended for two months. It's ironic that now the whole cast are suspended in a way because of the Coronavirus situation. Jessie's suspension was due to end around about now as well!

Is it just me, or was that episode really poor? It felt like things were happening just to move plot along. The only bits I enjoyed were the Slaters and there wasn’t nearly enough of that. Seems to be suffering from the reduction of episodes.

 

Interesting to get a Cherry mention today. It’s funny how eleventy kids live in that house but none of their mothers do right now.

Yeah I thought that was poor. Was shocked to see it was written by Daran Little.

 

The saving grace was Ruby and she was only really there to replace Kat's lines.

Is Kat supposed to be with Stacey or something? Her brief scene on the phone in the Vic didn’t really get much explanation..

 

Poor Keegan though :(

 

It certainly feels out of whack only having 2 episodes a week, we’re now about 2 weeks behind where we should be

I liked parts of the episode.

 

Keegan and the constant police arrests / harassment from them is wearing thin now though.

 

Feels like it’s every other episode he’s getting the blame for something or other.

 

Nice to see Vinny get more screen time and show a different side to his character.

 

And Shirley in that wig too!!

Yeah where has Kat gone storyline wise ? I feel like I blinked and missed it .
