Shirley and Kush consciously deciding to drug Jean. What the f*** is this writing?

I predict that something bad is going to happen to Jean and she will find out she is being drugged - that will put a wedge between her and Kush/Shirley (her only support) and then we will either see her leave to be with Stacey (and then bring her back), OR Stacey will come back to help.
It’s all just unnecessary though. Why not call a doctor? I know it’s a soap and we need the drama but Kush only discovered she’d stopped taking her meds last week (probably in the same week in show) and he decides that drugging her is the only way? And he and Shirley both admit they don’t know how these medicines work and go ahead with it anyway? No, this is is actually stretching things for me more than Kathy pretending to be dead for 9 years.

Yeah it's a bit silly but it's TV, so...

Jean is unbearable too, I’m so fed up with her and her recurring storyline every couple of months!
Tbh the whole thing needs replacing with full length episodes of Habiba PI at this rate.
Intrigued. I do wonder if the time gap will be addressed as the current batch of episodes already filmed will only take us to mid-May
Things have been pretty dreadful since that brilliant week of episodes on the Thames :(

Ya I think the same, it's like the show has gone completely backwards again and going around in circles.

The story of Ben’s struggle with his deafness has given us a gripping insight into his character. This special point of view episode is a ground-breaking episode unlike any other attempted in the history of EastEnders.

They really believe their own hype, don't they?

Oh FFS this is absolutely ridiculous. They have been heavy handed with that effect for weeks and a whole episode of it? I actually might not watch. I don’t really like Ben as it is.

I was hoping that no live element would mean we would get a proper aftermath and no dip in quality after the anniversary week. Now I know the reductions in episodes has not helped but honestly Whitney’s constant misery, heavy hand reminders that Ben can’t hear, Phil and Sharon basically just getting back together, Jean being drugged by her loved ones and the Keegan rubbish. Is anyone here for it?

I really think the spacing out of the episodes has affected the overall quality. There's no momentum - everything seems even more dragged out and repetitive than normal. I suppose there's not much they can do about that but it is a shame.

Well I’m glad Shirley and Kush were treated like the callous idiots that they are. I mean even Tina knew how stupid they are.

Suki can be a complete bitch but I’m living for it.

I did lol at Ben tho ‘you were dead for half of it!’ Kathy, the joke that keeps on giving *.*

Habiba’s notebook with ‘rainie casebook’ written in massive letters was also life giving.
