How is Lucas prison sentence been so short

Was the original actress asked and declined or was it a case of just a straight recast?

 

Like Libby’s returned a few times with the same actress. Either way I’m excited Denise is getting more family to work alongside and more screen time with a story!

 

 

Also wow at tonight’s episode! The acting was so strong. Shirley was brilliant in her scenes with Gray and props to him too because he’s been really good especially in tonight’s episode his guilt is really eating up at him now.

Im happy the role was recast as i found the original actress lifeless in most of her scenes.

Phil's Mastermind retort to Denise was great comic timing and a bit of light relief in an otherwise pretty dark but very strong episode.

Been expecting this for years really.

I’m quite sad at that exit mainly because I always felt that character could’ve been great but they’ve just been in the sidelines for too long or just there but without a real story / purpose.

 

I do wonder how they’ll leave though. Like

If a Carter was to ever be killed off then Tina would probably the one you’d expect as she brings the least to the show but her death would still cause a huge impact.

 

That character never gets stories anyway.

Expected tbh but a shame, she was always convincing in the role :( It’s been nice to actually see her on screen since the show came back. I’ll miss her!

 

It kinda irritates me how the lesbian characters in the show are completely overlooked (Tina, Bernie, Ash, Iqra) compared to the hot gay guys.

I have to agree that EE (and tbh soaps in general) are better at representing gay male characters than they are gay female characters.

I don’t think the actress wanted to come back . I think she’s taken on a more writer/producer role.

Zsa Zsa was the most recastable character ever though. She barely made an impression first time round.

 

Bernadette does need a story but has she been almost completely cut out of the aftermath of Chantelle’s death? She could be getting lots of screen time right now.

They had so many opportunists where they COULD have done something with Tina, but since the Tosh thing (which was ages ago and done pretty quickly too) she's had basically nothing. I mean remember when they made her have that brief thing with Billy rather than bother putting any effort into a lesbian character? I actually really liked her with Sonia tbh.

Her being a bad mum/absconding when they were little is why they went into care and the care worker who abused Mick (Frankie's mum Katy Lewis) obviously wouldn't have had that opportunity had Shirley been around, so in his mind it's almost Shirley's fault it happened. It's probably been buried for a while but now it's come back to the surface with Mick having to be reminded of Katy because of Frankie.

It should be ridiculous that Kathy can easily pull off looking 45 but she does! I need whatever Gillian’s been drinking the past 35 years!

Crazy to think Kathy is now older than Pat was when she died and is only 14 years younger than Dot!

Ah ok that makes sense thanks for explaining. I feel like a missed a scene or something as I just suddenly saw Mick being mad at Shirley all of a sudden and it was confusing :lol:
