November 18, 200618 yr I'm not really going to sum up on sound but I'm going to sum up on one song in general! Lithium for me - it's a metaphor for numbness and happiness, the happiness that Amy always looked upon in a negative way because she was too afraid and she thought she wouldn't be able to be an artist if she was happy. But it's ironic but she really is happy in her own very private and deeply emotional world. It's like the fight for happiness in the dark- the dark of Evanescence. Then at the end of the song she says she's 'going to let it go'. It says to me that it's okay, it's okay to feel what you do and express it in anyway that inspires you aslong as in the end you're now wallowing in your own hatred. For me that's why I listen to Evanescence, it stops me being alone, it stops me sinking into my own world. It saves me from me. It's Amy's song and for me it's her passion that drives the band forwards. It shows off her voice in the most beautiful way aswell as encorporating the awesome kick of Evanescence and that's perfect. :wub:
