June 8, 20205 yr Author #1 in today's mids! It'll drop of course, but already a great result. The album is really good as well! It does suffer from 'debut album syndrome' with there only being 4 new songs (and a new version of 'Camel Crew') but I was never too familiar with some of their first singles and overall it's a great listen. I do think they'll be massive in a few years, Catfish level at least - the bands goal is to eventually headline Knebworth! LwphE8GWnHE
June 9, 20205 yr Author Bought the CD + tshirt for £14.95 inc. postage! Great deals on their store - album is also £3.99 on itunes! @1270441296625311746
June 14, 20205 yr They have great energy and some good lyrics but the songwriting skills don't really match yet. There's potential though!
June 14, 20205 yr In normal circumstances, they would be touring atm. If they use the time to do some serious song-writing, they could yet do very well. The debut album is good but I think the extra time the current circumstances will give them to write the next one could be an unexpected benefit.
July 29, 20204 yr Author https://www.readdork.com/features/sports-te...interview-aug20 A really good interview with Dork out today, the second album is set to be released before the end of this year! Hang on a minute, the new album? "Of course," Alex replies, not seeming to notice that they've literally just released an album. "Second album is going to be soon, before the end of the year." Again, he doesn't seem to be joking. "Before the stores of goodwill are exhausted, we've got to release another one – we've got a lot of it done from over lockdown as it is, but we're in a big writing phase at the moment for lack of anything else to do. This time it probably won't have a load of old singles on it either, I don't know if the fans would let us get away with that again. "My vision for it is that we've found our voice with the first album, we've grown up and worked out who we are, and now album two is more answering questions and being a bit more explicit about where we're at on things." He laughs. "That sounded quite competent, didn't it? I'm billing it as this considered, polished album, but what I actually see in my head is pure stadium rock. It's just going to be us on stage with a wind machine strutting around. More swagger and more strutting – Sports Team album 2."
