November 19, 200618 yr Author 300.000? Maybe in the eighties.. Just because Westlife can't manage 300k in the first week does'nt mean others acts can't -_-
November 19, 200618 yr 300.000? Maybe in the eighties.. Yes, because Oasis WERE around in the 80s weren't they -_- Leave music predictions to the people who know these groups track records, the Beatles or Oasis will thrash Getalife.
November 19, 200618 yr Author westlife got 240.000 Yes, but this is an ALL COVERS album, so I highly doubt it will even sell 200k :smoke:
November 19, 200618 yr Oasis last album sold something like 250,000 first week, this album will sell far more cause all Oasis's casual fans will buy it. It's a must for all music fans imo. Also Oasis have a huge fanbase anyway. I expect and hope for over 300k ^_^ Well I've bought all of Oasis' albums in the first week. But I won't be buying Stop The Clocks as I own all the tracks on the album. The same applies for the U2 Best of - where I will just download the two new tracks. I will be buying The Beatles LOVE album as it has been digitally remastered in 5.1 Surround Sound, so it sounds as contemporary as Oasis . While what George & Giles Martin have done to the material based on the 4 tracks made available on The Beatles Official site is nothing short of brilliant!

LOVE is pure genius  I have been playing it non stop since I bought it on Friday! ^_^ I still think Oasis's fanbase will buy 'Stop the clocks' as well as alot of music fans who would'nt usually buy an Oasis album, therfore I think it will sell far more than DBTT, which sold around 250k first week I think?
November 19, 200618 yr i think oasis' sales will touch 450.000 but i think Beatles' Love will beat them selling aroud 800.000. Westlife will get to Top 10 I think with sales of 40.000.

What the hell? 800,000 in a week? Even the quickest selling album ever in the UK sold about 650K in a week, this estimation is extremely unrealistic - I'd say the Beatles would get 450K at the most to claim number one, no way will they get 800K

And acrtually it was Oasis's 'Be Here Now' album that sold 650k in it's first 4 days of released (it was released mid week for some reason) it actually did sell near 800k in the first 7 days beleive it or not and a million within 17 days

November 19, 200618 yr Author Yep, Be Here Now sold just under 700k in 3 days alone and 423,000 copies on the first day of release alone :o
November 19, 200618 yr Author Ironic that the fastest selling was at the time their worst yet  I think 'Standing on the shoulders of Giants' is their worst myself -_-
November 19, 200618 yr I think the Beatles are a sure #1 next week. Westlife will probably be #2 or #3 and Oasis will be the other one [i'd say Oasis #2 and Westlife #3]. BTW did anyone catch Simon's comment on X Factor earlier? He said to Louis "Its a bit rich, you telling someone that they have a weak vocal" When Louis asked what he meant Simon replied "You'll hear them later!" :) I think he meant the McDonald Brothers to be honest [i doubt Simon would diss Westlife when he too profits from their success....] Edited November 19, 200618 yr by Matthew
