Posted November 19, 200618 yr Monkey singer's new band Virgin Net Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner has put together a new band and they will make their live debut next month, according to reports. Turner's new outfit, called The Rascals, will play at the Korova Bar in Liverpool on December 1, according to music site Glasswerk. The singer has been busy working on new material for Arctic Monkeys' second LP, but seems to have also found time to start work on another project. The Monkeys have had a hugely successful 2006 with their debut album 'Whatever People Say I Am That's What I'm Not' topping the UK album chart. The Sheffield outfit have also had two number one singles - 'I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor' and 'When The Sun Goes Down' - so it looks like The Rascals have a good chance of success! Doors open at 8pm. The ticket price has not been announced. Any Comments?
November 19, 200618 yr Stupid, imo. He's obviously trying to squeeze as much as he can out of the Arctic's success, which is pointless. He should be focusing on making sure the Arctics new stuff is on the same level as 'WPSIATWIN', without creating un-necessary distractions -_-

Alex seems to be in it more for the passion of music rather than the money, but it does seem rather an odd thing to do. :o Especially when The Arctics are working on their second album...

That's my point - how badly timed it is. If Arctics were on hiatus, fair game to the lad, but the fact that they're working on a new album that makes me think it's more for the money than anything else :unsure: I'm hoping im wrong, but...

Alex might not actually be in the band though. :D Its not very clear from the article about what is actually going on, it just says he's put the band together. ^_^ Well I mean the band could have been put together a long time ago. :unsure: But yeah it does seems rather a stupid thing to do when there meant to be working on a new album. :unsure:
