May 15, 20205 yr Author Again, with no way of testing out the hypothesis there's no way to prove anyone right (see me on Italy 2017) or wrong (see me on Portugal 2017). And for all that Bulgaria was probably the biggest contender out of the rest of the pack (see my post at the start of this thread about doing well with both juries and public) it falls into the trap of being a bit too much in the same space as last year's winner which rarely produces outright victory. And I don't share the same belief some people had in Lithuania as it would probably have landed like Occidentali's Karma on slightly the wrong side of weird and wacky/mid life crisis pop (and a lot of Lithuania's most reliable televote neighbours would probably be prioritising Russia/Iceland before them).
May 15, 20205 yr Author While I'm in a bold assertions move this is also how I'd imagine the semis playing out SEMI ONE 01 Lithuania 02 Russia 03 Sweden 04 Azerbaijan 05 Malta 06 Israel 07 Romania 08 Norway 09 Belgium 10 Ireland 11 Ukraine 12 Croatia 13 Australia 14 Slovenia 15 North Macedonia 16 Belarus 17 Cyprus SEMI TWO 01 Iceland 02 Bulgaria 03 Switzerland 04 Armenia 05 Greece 06 Denmark 07 Moldova 08 Poland 09 Czech Republic 10 Latvia 11 Serbia 12 Georgia 13 Albania 14 Austria 15 Finland 16 Estonia 17 Portugal 18 San Marino I will answer any questions you may have on anything that seems whacko about these predictions :P
May 16, 20205 yr I see a lot of people saying Cyprus would have flopped hard but I just don't see it. It's a contemporary song, very current and the singer is a cute male. I personally think it would have qualified. Will bring my SF predix tomorrow with points et al.
May 17, 20205 yr I agree Cyprus would have challenged for a place in the final, it's a decent song and very modern, sounds like it could have been produced by Meduza or Regard. I don't think any of Ukraine, Croatia, Slovenia, North Macedonia or Belarus would have made it out of Semi 1 but the other 12 would have had quite a fight, I saw some momentum building for Belgium and Ireland certainly. Maybe Norway might have even been a shock DNQ, and I guess Australia might have fallen here too. Semi 2 is a little harder to predict but I think the only absolute no-hopers in it were San Marino and Portugal. I could see potential cases for everything else in there making it. Looks like in the final the 'dark horses' that could have maybe surprised with a result on the left-hand side were Belgium, the UK and possibly even Ireland. France seems to have gone down better than expected in various fan shows and on iTunes too, but I can't imagine it would have escaped the bottom five. Shame we'll never have any answers.
May 17, 20205 yr So I made my own results and for my own sake I'm just going to pretend they were the real results since we'll never get any actual results  (Excuse the big size, idk why the mac supersizes them like this lmao) I'm probably being very biased and optimistic on Iceland but I personally do think we would have won as from what I've seen it's been a definite jury and televote darling.
