Posted April 12, 20205 yr 7ZZaz28fHss April 10 marked 35 years since the first date of Madonna's debut concert tour, suitably titled The Virgin Tour. The tour saw Madonna perform across the US for two months in support of her first two albums. Patrick Leonard, who would continue to work with Madonna throughout the 80s, was music director and hip hop group Beastie Boys were signed as the opening act. The tour sold out and saw thousands of young girls show up wearing clothes inspired by Madonna. 35 years on, what are your thoughts/memories of this tour?
April 12, 20205 yr Not familiar with this tour! May use free time during lockdown to watch through it :D
April 13, 20205 yr This must be my most watched item ever. Madonna raw and insanely captivating. Highlights 1. Dress You Up 2. The tambourine 3. The crazy fan who gets on stage and Madonna doesn’t even wince. 4. The crazy For You vocals
April 15, 20205 yr Author ^ 'Dress You Up' and 'Crazy For You' are two of my highlights too! Incorporating 'Billie Jean' into 'Like a Virgin' was great too, I'd just wish she sang some of the chorus as well. It's a shame 'Angel', 'Borderline' and 'Burning Up' were cut from the video release, especially 'Angel' which hasn't been performed since! The audios are available online but there's no good quality videos.
April 16, 20205 yr I’m not surprised the cut burning up. She simulated giving oral sex to her sexy drummer during the performance haha.
