I'm not totally sure but I'm going to go with...

Champagne Supernova

Cast No Shadow

Whatever (it should be here but your post for Live Forever suggests it won't be!)

Round Are Way (probably not but I really like it)

errrrrr Rock n Roll Star? Or maybe Slide Away?!!

Ok, so posting the one I forgot to add into the countdown (my bad).

6A. Whatever

Always seems to me, You only see what people want you to see

ARGH! Cannot believe I forgot the excellent Whatever. Lets call this one 6A :P

Anyway, the Christmas '94 top 3 hit, the most Beatles sounding Oasis song (and that's saying something!) and the one that isn't on a studio album (and I have this on 12" vinyl).

3 of these are in my top 5 :o

You've prompted me to listen to Oasis again over the past two days, I've decided my ideal playlist is:

01 D'You Know What I Mean? (NG's 2016 version)

02 Rock 'n' Roll Star

03 Roll With It

04 Talk Tonight

05 Live Forever

06 Wonderwall

07 Don't Look Back In Anger

08 The Masterplan

09 Part Of The Queue

10 Some Might Say

11 Cigarettes & Alcohol

12 The Importance Of Being Idle

13 Stand By Me

14 Cast No Shadow

15 She's Electric

16 Round Are Way

17 Falling Down

18 Whatever

19 Half The World Away

20 Acquiesce

21 Supersonic

22 Fade In-Out

23 Morning Glory

24 Untitled II

25 Champagne Supernova

So all in all not too dissimilar to your list! I'll be interested to see if any of your top 5 don't feature, maybe I'm missing something!

Hmmmm so 2 missing, I wonder if I do like them but just haven't thought of them yet... or whether you have questionable taste!!!

Slide Away was in your guess, but not your own 25, so have potentially got 4.

I think one of the top 5 will surprise you, it’s personally adored by me, but not well thought of by most fans! 5 and 4 will be posted soon....

5. The Masterplan

Please brother let it be

All hail the best B-side ever. I am still gobsmacked that this was not a main single, or on a studio album. One of the B-Sides of Wonderwall (itself one of THE songs of the 90s) goes to show what a high point Oasis were on at this point in their career. Even Noel Gallagher cannot believe that this was now only a B-Side!

4. Hey Now!

I took a walk with my fame down memory lane

Ahh, the one no-one could guess! This track isn't well liked, even by Oasis who never played it live. However, this song holds so many good memories for me and its just so damn melodic! Will always be a personal fave and I think this is the most under-rated song on Whats The Story?

Ohhhhh... I don't dislike Hey Now but it's definitely not a huge favourite of mine.

And RFC, I hadn't even noticed I didn't include Slide Away :o

3. Champagne Supernova

Slowly walking down the hall, Faster than a cannonball

Classic has been a bit over-used by me in this thread, but I think Champagne Supernova is the ultimate classic album track. This seven minute anthem is the closing track on (What's The Story) Morning Glory? and is epic Oasis at their best.

woh! at that 4-some of Dont Look Back, Wonderwall, Live Forever and Whatever..... :o My top 4 tracks plus Idle. The Masterplan and Champagne Supernova are fab though, but Hey Now is not one I recall at all (and I bought the album that year!), it just didn't sink into my brain cells at all :o
