The Documentary we've been looking forward to for such a long time is finally about to be shown on ITV. A fan rang ITV and was told that the program is to be aired on 23rd December at 6.40pm, although this has not as yet been confirmed by 19 Management. I really hope this is the correct time, as it would be a very good viewing slot, but of course TV schedules can be altered at the last minute just as music releases can, so we'll just have to wait and see. If this information does prove to be incorrect, we have been assured it is definitely being shown before the end of the year, so it may even be sooner.

I've heard the program will show what Gareth has been doing over the past 2 or 3 years. Writing, recording, passing his driving test (we know what trouble he had first time around. Think his hair took priority back then. thank goodness he's grown up now lol), and working with the McGuire Speech Program. Initially for his own benefit and laterly instructing courses for others with speech problems. He has obviously made a tremendous improvement with his own speech to be able to do that. And what a wonderful ambassador and inspiration he is for the McGuire Program. It will be very interesting to see just how much he's come on since the Trevor McDonald program was shown, when he could barely speak more than a few words.

Its also been hinted that the program will show clips of some of the music on Gareth's album, which is due to be released very soon after the program is aired. Now, that's what I'm really, really, looking forward to most of all

I've got fingers and everything else crossed, nothing happens which will result in the time and/or date being changed

I read that date too and can I say I love that banner of yours. I’ll probably be out, but it’s exciting to know when it’s on and I’ll definitely be setting the video.

I really can’t wait to see how Gareth and his music has developed over the last couple of years. It’ll be interesting to see how this documentary is different to the one he did before for Tonight With Trevor McDonald. For a start is seems as if this one will be an hour long, which makes it better already, lol. :cheer:

If I’ve got the hang of it this time, I should be posting clips from the previous one, and maybe even in the correct order, lol!

It seems that this time round Gareth has got his wish to have the time to work on his speech, which is long overdue.

I am really excited and interested in watching this documentary about Gareth, It will be a great chance for everyone to see what he has been upto with his new music he is working on and hopefully we will even get to hear what its like which will be good.

I am also looking forward to hearing his speech and how good it will be since he has been working so hard on it, I'm sure it will be brilliant and this documentary is his chance to show everyone what a difference it will be compared to the time he was on Trevor McDonald.

I really hope the schedule doesn't change for when the documentary is on, And I will be setting my video recorder for that night. :D

Thanks for posting those clips up Nosey. I haven't watched them for ages now.

You can virutally feel Gareth's frustration when he can't say what he wants to say can't you. So glad it will be different for him this time.

I think (hope) it will be very different this time.

What gets me is that after going to the effort of making that first documentary, and everything that Gareth went through on it, some bright spark at the record label still didn't seem to think it was important for Gareth to be given time to work on his speech. They must have assumed that because Spirit in the Sky was such a massive hit, that the next single and album would just fly off the shelves without any proper effort into the promotion. I know the promotion was also curtailed because Gareth fell ill after he got back from Thailand and Malaysia, but I'm sure I read someone saying that the whole promotional schedule had been planned with not one single tv or radio interview in place.

Another thing I read was that Gareth had been working with a singer-songwriter called Judie Tzuke who also releases her own material on an independent label. She is planning to release one of the songs they wrote together herself, and Gareth plays piano on it. He's not just a pretty face.

I sense a Gareth Gates forum coming shortly near you... on this board

Not my cup of tea, I rather like dunking biscuits in my tea  anyhow... whatever floats your boat I be quite happy with.

Ah, well, you never know Mikey. You may be pleasantly surprised when you hear his new stuff and might actually start liking some of it. He's promised us we're going to be shocked  Wonder what he means

Whatever it is, I can't wait

As much as I am looking forward to seeing what Gareth has been up to over the past couple of years with him being kept under wraps by his management, I really do hope that there is lots of emphasis on 'In the Studio'. I can't believe how long it is since Gareth has been on TV but this last month of waiting is like waiting for Christmas :banghead:  :cheer:

Is there any room left?

Thanks for the news and the Trevor McDonald clips, which I hadn't seen for ages. It's great to know that Gareth has made so much progress with his speech that he is now instructing ( a course this weekend I think)

More excited about hearing some of the music though. It seems a lifetime since we heard anything from him.

Maybe he'll sing in tune  (Sorry, couldn't resist :P )

Seriously, it'll be interesting to see Gareth's documentary, and his new music. He has a job on his hands I think to gain any credibility in todays market, but if does produce good enough music he could do it.

Tut, Tut, Naughty, Naughty.

Gareth always sings in tune, with a heart-renching tone to it as well. Well, it melts my heart anyway

I think however, he may have been alluding to the kind of music he's been making :yahoo:

Bring it on Gareth :cheer:

I cant wait to hear Gareth new music. Not long now, I am getting excited already, lol
It seems as if the documentary will have a fair musical content. They are doing some filming at a 'secret' gig in London next week.

i wobnder can he make a successfull comeback?

His fans certainly hope so, surely it all depends on his new music? :D

Is there any room left?

There is loads of room. I didn't realise there was many Gareth Gates fans on here

Mickey we are still here supporting Gareth, lol and enjoying other singers as well. :D
Personally, I don't like the artist forums, and much prefer a general pop one. Maybe it will be different when he's back properly and there's a lot happening, but I tend to just pop in here, chart, R'n'B and only look in the others if I've got loads of time or I'm looking for specific information.

That's because we've not had much to talk about recently Mikey. I'm sure once we have you'll find there are loads more joining in too. Although most of Gareth's fans seem to like to stick to his own Official sites, which have remained very active even though the young man hasn't been around for such a long time.

For me, I love it on here, where I can get all the info I want on other artists

Then when I want the detailed stuff about Gareth, I can go home to his site

It appears that gig is going to be pretty over-subscribed

Have you see the terms and conditions? There's one about how you give your permission for filming and photographs of you taken at the event to be used throughout the world forever!! LMAO. As well as being funny, do you think that means Gareth will be relaunching himself in a number of countries early on?
