So we lose the most recent album to be released by Rih ANTI in round 5! Half of you voted that as your least favourite album.

 

Shock result for me last time around. As I really felt the eliminated album was gonna make the top 2 alongside one what’s still in the rate but a result I agree with. ANTI just doesn’t have the same amount of high highs and 11/10 moments what the other albums remaining have in my opinion.

 

ANTI would however go onto break records in the US where it’s still on the Billboard 200, is the longest charting album by a black female artist and become her second #1 album. The album also spawned huge top ten hits in the US including Work which was another #1 for Rih, and the top ten smashes Needed Me and Love On The Brain.

 

In the UK the performance was more modest. The album sold just over 20k in week one easily her lowest selling debut position since 2007 (idk did AGLM sell more in week one). The album never charted higher than #7 but did go onto spend 60 weeks on the albums chart (the top 100) which was more than Talk that Talk and Unapologetic. Sales wise however it’s her second lowest seller after her debut album but ANTI did eventually go platinum at least. It’s perhaps worth noting that this was her first album since Good Girl Gone Bad not to be a q4 release and would also mark her first album released in the streaming era as well as also marking the longest gap (at the time) between albums going from annual releases to a gap of over three years (November 2012 - January 2016).

 

The album would also get 8 Grammy nods and huge critical praise with many critics claiming it as her best album to date.

 

 

Good Girl Gone Bad would also pick up 6 votes last round and Loud 4 votes. Rated R got no votes last round but all could change.

I think the single selection was flawless in the UK (RR, RB, TA) but Loud and GGGB have more songs that I love.

Good Girl Gone Bad got my vote this round.

 

I love all three though but Rated R and Loud for me are like peak Rihanna and I never skip a track when I hear those albums.

 

Short / sweet and all killer no filler.

 

So happy Good Girl Gone Bad managed a top 3 finish though. I really thought it would’ve left in round 3 tbh!
