watch starter for ten tonight. had a lot of cure tracks in it. including one that charted in 1990, pictures of you (also from the advert). the film was set in 1985.

 

so, following on from the world famous discussion about whether an American actor should play an Austrian in a English Language representation of a famous part of foreign history*

 

the question for today is...

 

Should a film that supposed to be a certain period in time always feature music from the year/previous years or just make it random to fit in with whats going on in screen?

Obviously, otherwise it's just gonna look silly... The film-makers spend all that time and trouble recreating the feel, mood, props and costuming, etc from a specific time period, then some tit in an edit suite comes along and puts a song from 2006 in it or something.... Stupid....

 

Could you imagine a WW2 film with some 'dance' or 'metal' tune in it..?? :wacko:

and how about if its just a few years either side. like starter for ten with their well if its from the 1980s (inc 1990) is all right as most people wont look in the ghs&a book afterwards
