April 26, 20205 yr 'Pow!' was one of the answers I was least confident about when sending so yay, glad that was right *.*

I loved Katy Perry back in the day although her newest releases haven't done much for me. She's certainly one of the artists I would have loved to have seen live but at least I did see her at One Love Manchester where she was brilliant to be fair. Katy started off as as an obscure Christian music artist and it was this controversial, drastic change of tone that introduced her to a world of success. I guess most people would now regard this as a lower-tier Katy Perry single and that she's bettered it many times over but this is the one that I always find myself going back to the most. Another song that was very close to a full house but 2 people missed it. Unfortunately for Bre, it did turn out to be an easy one.
April 26, 20205 yr I quite liked 'I Kissed A Girl' at the time but it aged really badly for me! Thankfully the 'Teenage Dream' stuff still sounds great
April 26, 20205 yr Author 10. I knew this would be an easier one and the instrumental is so distinctive. The vocals on this song verge on the border of creepy and cool and I can never work out which side I would describe them as. Having seem the video, I'm starting to lean on the side of creepy. It doesn't stop the song from being a massive tune though. One I can't help but always sing along to. A majority of the answers actually got the song title slightly wrong but I'll be lenient as it was obvious what they we're referring to. Also, I'm not sure who Hit Crew Masters are :P
April 26, 20205 yr Yeah I love the distinctive instrumental of 'I Like The Way You Move' but also find the vocals creepy
April 26, 20205 yr Author 11. If you're always wondered who each artist are referring to, here you go. Nelly Furtado is dissing Fergie, Timbaland verse is directed at Scott Storch and Timberlake is talking to Janet Jackson and also, weirdly, Prince. The main feud was Timbaland/Storch though after Storch claimed that he was the actual producer of Cry Me A River, while Timbaland says that he is "just the piano man" which feels like an apt criticism if you listen to any of Scott's songs. Anyway the song is a jam and it's nice to hear Timbaland actually rap and not just produce. He really was everywhere at the time.

If you're 22 and British and don't love this song let me know. This was the sound of the school disco and Nokia phones alike. This cruelly spent 3 weeks at #2 behind Duffy's Mercy but really deserved a week at the top. Mr Saxobeat is another dance song I love so that's not a bad guess. Again, I must ask: who's Groove Focus?
April 26, 20205 yr Only 12 for 'What's It Gonna Be?' :o educate yourselves on this back of the bus banger!! Also I had no idea about the beef involved with 'Give It To Me' - interesting!
April 26, 20205 yr Author 13. At The Disco (Jordan Lee) I obviously thought this song was much bigger than it was, I thought it would be one of the most guessed answers and I certainly thought it peaked higher than #12. The reason there is no vowels in the song title is because their record company told them to make their song titles shorter. Its between this, I Don't Care & This Ain't A Scene... for their best song for me. If you've never seen the video before Pete Went'z love interest is played by none other than Kim Kardashian, who is eventually taken from him by a chimpanzee. This was released the same year as Kim's infamous tape so I'm not sure if this was pre or post. The wrong guesses are all close. Panic... are actually referenced in the video.
April 26, 20205 yr Author Only 12 for 'What's It Gonna Be?' :o educate yourselves on this back of the bus banger!! Criminal
April 26, 20205 yr Pleased with how this is going so far, That's My Goal is definitely one of the better X Factor singles! Cheerleader was a very nice track too, got a bit bored of it after the overplay but I've not heard it as much recently so it still sounds pretty good, and Thnks Fr Th Mmrs is a classic, agreed about This Ain't A Scene being one of their best!
April 26, 20205 yr I noticed quite a few Now 67 songs in this edition which is perfect for me - first album on my iPod so very nostalgic *.*
April 26, 20205 yr Hit Crew Masters - I Like The Way You Move (Infludexton*) BODYROCKERS! oml who the f*** are hit crew masters, I knew what the song was but had no idea who it was by and 'Hit Crew Masters' was literally the first thing that came up (i assume some knock off upload on youtube or something) when I searched and I didn't think to check any further because I was rushing :')
April 26, 20205 yr Looks like it's the same category as Precision Tunes and the like  (Future idea: Include that version of Payphone and watch everyone guess Maroon 5 :kink:)
April 26, 20205 yr Author 14. Goldie Lookin Chain - Guns Don't Kill People, Rappers Do 2004, #3 ICG0MuzEYzw Correct (2): Mack., jimwatts Other Answers: Panic! At The Disco (DalekTurret32) Ariana Grande (dan.G*) Beastie Boys (M4NGO) Run DMC - Walk This Way (Dobbo) Bloc Party (Fisher) Girls Aloud vs Sugababes - Walk This Way (Scene) Red Hot Chili Peppers (Jade) Kelis (Beverly) Estelle - American Boy (Dan17F1) Here we have the least-guessed song in the whole quiz. I'm not shocked that its the most obscure, but I thought more than 2 people would know it. This is a song by the best (and possibly only) Welsh rap collective Goldie Lookin Chain. They were like the Lonely Island of their day. This is one of the funniest and quotable songs ever. "Rap is more deadly than f****n' Kung-Fu" and "guns don't kill people, rappers do. I seen it in a documentary on BB2" have always been particular favourites. A couple of people said this one was annoying them but based on how many people got it, I'm not sure this is what they were expecting. Beastie Boys were a particular close guess though.
April 26, 20205 yr Omg that isn't what I expected for #14. :o It is at least comforting to see someone else guess Walk This Way  I thought the GA/Sugababes version since it didn't really sound rocky.
April 26, 20205 yr Woohoo!! I thought that's what is was on first listen but had to look it up on Spotify to check!
April 26, 20205 yr Author 15. Bloodhound Gang - The Bad Touch 2000, #4 6f7pgA0riU8 Correct (23): DalekTurret32, n4yr, paulgilb, dan.G*, girlsaloudjunkie, Mack., Chig66, M4NGO, vibe, Dobbo, Fisher, Scene, Rush, Jade, coi, StoneDragon, jimwatts, MrAndrewMan, Zárate, Breraldine, Jordan Lee, Dan17F1, West Other Answers: Erasure (Beverly) Next, we have a song that is in many ways very similar to the previous song, just much better remembered. This has always been a favourite of mine. Another song with endlessly quotable lyrics “and then we’ll do it doggy style, so we can both watch X Files” “like the lost catacombs of Egypt, only God knows where we stuck it”. The video is iconic too, it’s just a shame that nothing else I’ve heard from them even comes close to matching this. My laptop's running a bit slow at the moment so sorry if the posts are being quite inconsistent atm.
