Encouraging them to post at least 100 times and sticking around for a month is a great incentive to see if they actually are the sort to stick around the long run and not just be here to inflate scores in things like this. I really like that idea Addy, it's one to consider for sure.

Brilliant idea! Both of these suggestions would be ideal - 1 month old + 100 posts minimum!

I think just having been a part of the forum since before the competition began would be sufficient enough, there may be people who don't like to post much but have been members for ages.

There was a link posted to the Zara forum not to vote in here x

Even without that vote of a new member, Zara would have survived!

Actually she got 2 votes from that link and she got through by 1 vote so she wouldn't have done.

“Actually” Fred also votes for songs below Zara.

It’s amusing though, the link was posted to the Zara forum, not the AFSC. I done it because Zara was trending on twitter and I’m very active on that account today.

Link took them to welcome to Zara thread.. mind boggling.

LOL

so both Harry and Robbie would have been safe?!!!

I also think we should add 10 votes to Charli, just because.

I don't think there's any reasonable argument against this tbh

I think it's fair for anyone to vote but I wouldn't be against some lite rules in place as well.

Like you can vote only if you have 100+ posts or something like your account has to be 1 month old!!!

I know other sites have rule similar to this implemented! It could be something to look into. It would mean the results are reflective of the community on here, and not swayed by inviting in others to vote before they've properly explored the site.

I'm here for this, and quite honestly I feel like this should be implemented with immediate effect.

I personally find it odd that there are newbies who've instantly voted in this forum game. Not even posting around the forum and settling in, they apparently care about this game first. It strikes me as suspicious and it comes across like they've been asked to vote.

Don't get it twisted because I appreciate newbies on the forum, but I certainly struggle to see why they would be immediately motivated to vote in a forum artist game when they've been here for all of about 5 minutes.

I'm voting for Robbie Williams - No Regrets!

My guess is that some newbies will have been here for longer than about 5 minutes just lurking around and deciding to create an account so they can vote. Pete mentioned it was the case for him earlier and it was the same for me as well, almost all of my first posts were just votes in song competitions!

I can definitely see why they would be posting for the first time in a competition like this but, considering the effort that each of the respective AF mods put into this game, I also agree with the view that there should be some sort of minimum post rule before voting here (not a high one though, I'm thinking more like 50 rather than 100), and they can reach that total just through votes on other song ranking games around the site like the survivor polls or something.

Voting for Harry Styles - Adore You  :D
The Wagatha Christie realness in this thread :cheeseblock:
