Gwen gives up on solo career

 

 

Gwen Stefani is set to call time on her solo career and return to her old band No Doubt.

 

The multi-platinum singer releases her second solo LP 'The Sweet Escape' next month and insists that will probably be the last of her solo material.

 

She told MTV: "I don't think I will make another (solo album). I can't predict anything, but I don't plan on making one of these solo dance project records, I definitely feel myself going back to No Doubt after this to do a new album."

 

Stefani enjoyed huge success with her debut record 'Love Angel Music Baby' in 2004 and insists she has plenty of material left over from the sessions for her latest album, but she has no idea if they will ever see the light of day.

 

"I don't really know what will happen with those other songs, there's probably about 10 left over," she added.

 

"I could (make) an album with them really fast! So we'll see what happens, I mean you can always use them for something at some point or I could just listen to them myself and be greedy."

 

Stefani's new single 'Wind It Up' will hit the shelves on December 11 - a week after the release of 'The Sweet Escape'.

I'll miss her being solo..she's had a lot of great songs on her own..but she's good as part of ND as well. I like to see both solo/group work.

I cannot wait for her to ditch the solo stuff, she is so much better with the band.

I'll reserve judgment until I have heard the new album.

Well the boys are now looking for a new singer for a side project, so, we might be waiting a little longer :P

I prefer No Doubt to her solo career, Don't Speak is my all time favourite single :wub: its got sentimental value

A follow up on the boys of No Doubt’s side project, they are in the recording studio at the moment working on some new music. They have approached Serj Tankian of System Of A Down to collaborate with them, but he is currently busy working on his own solo album. They are going for a harder, more instrumental sound for their new music project and will be collaborating with other artists.
