Let's not forget that Liverpool won their opening 6 games last season, beat Crystal Palace and Newcastle home and away, had a 7 point lead in January and still didn't win the league. It's a one horse race for the title this season no matter what anyone says. The title will stay with Manchester City again this season.

I knew Wolves would drop points today, if they were as consistent against the lower teams as they are against the big six then they would be a genuine title threat.

Manchester City won the league by going on an 18 game winning run. If they do that again they will win the league, if Liverpool do that they will win the league. If Newcastle do that they will win the league.

Highlight of the weekend for me is Dan James scoring and then celebrating like he's just hit the winner! Got a way to go to get the Utd mentality in his head yet, he went dull David Moyes vs Fulham there.

Ehh, give the lad a break. He's scored 2 in his first 3 (beyond his and anyone's wildest dreams), probably has forced his way into the starting XI for good now & should have rescued a point for us. He had every right to be a little bit cocky and certainly can't be blamed for the sloppy late goal.

Yes, City & Pool are a class above everyone else right now and if Pool avoid any key injuries they'll be pushing City all the way but that's the IF that City don't have to worry about. They lost their best player for pretty much the entire of last season season and still won the league.

There is nothing cocky about it, it was terrible. You score an equaliser with a few minutes to go, you don't celebrate like you've just scored the winner against Liverpool. You run and get the ball out of the net and go for the winner. It was a good goal, but that celebration has parallels of David Moyes first pumping an equalising goal in a 2-2 at Fulham!

I'd stick him on pens now with the way things are currently going.

Don't even remember the Moyes thing but then again I've tried banish that season from my memory.

Cracking game of football. Newcastle good in defence. Thoroughly deserved. I wonder if Pochettino likes VAR now?

I thought Rashford's penalty was fine, just unlucky.

Tottenham always seem to have a slow start to the season

Only won nine league games in 2019 and something like 4 wins in 15. They are in a bit of a bad run of form. Selling Trippier seems a strange move now, but looks like Pochettino really rates Walker-Pieters/Foyth.

Moyes, yes I remember that era all too well.

No need again for racist abuse aimed at Rashford after the match. Surely something has to be done.

I wonder when Bournemouth have their stadium expanded.

Bit of a soft penalty for Wolves, really... yes, there is contact, but it does not trip him and the ball is already gone.
Yeh the inconsistency with the other penalty decisions this weekend stood out.

Liverpool have rejected accusations of 'mentally bullying' teenage forward Bobby Duncan.

The 18-year-old, who is the cousin of former club captain Steven Gerrard, had been the subject of interest from Serie A side Fiorentina recently but Liverpool want to keep the youngster.

Duncan's representative, Saif Rubie, says Duncan is being kept at the club against his will.

Saints managing a draw against United, very happy with that result! Looks like United really are struggling.

Shock horror.. I didn't think Man Utd were actually that bad! I think they were unlucky if I am honest. Another day and they win that 2-1, I certainly didn't ever think Southampton would win. Southampton gave Liverpool a good game at St Marys too.

It's obvious Man Utd are in transition, there will be far more results like this over the season. More worrying thing is the defence does not look solid, the midfield is bang average and the bench is terrible. Expecting a 17 year old to come on (as good as he probably is) and change the game just adds massive pressure on the lad. And how Lingaard is a Premier League football I'll never know!

You were very good value for the draw, even after going down to 10-men you weren't in any danger.

Wouldn't say we're struggling, 5 points from the first 4 matches is about what I expected. Time & patience required but if those 2 missed penalties go in the outlook appears much better. Fine margins etc.

I agree as well, it's about your current level. The problem is the media create hyperbole and then some of the more vocal fans and ex-players (G Neville the worst culprit..) just go ballistic which I think just adds unwanted pressure.

It was a promising start for us but as soon as the first goal went in I thought we had no chance of coming back into the game, it definitely looked like United would get their second sooner or later. Thankfully Saints got over that and improved again in the second half, great to see Vestergaard get his first goal for the club as well. Even after that I thought it would end 2-1 though, it's rare for us to not throw it away.

Absolutely. That Chelsea result caused such a frenzy that we were better than we actually are but that game masked our actual current standard.
