If there was anything on the bench worth bringing on, I'd happily see 3 subs at half time.

Man Utd - a top 6 first XI with mid-table depth managed by a bottom 3 manager. Couple in Thursday night football absolutely no chance they'll be in the Champions League next season.
But we don't have a top 6 first XI though, far from it! The midfield & defense are mid-table standard.
I'd hardly say the first XI was worse than Leicester, Arsenal or West Ham. It certainly shouldn't be anyway. But beyond it there's absolutely nothing. Some decent potential but that's it.

Our squad is the main problem not the manager. Our squad is so weak, definitely the weakest United squad I've seen. When Rashford got injured and they showed Jessie Lingard warming up I couldn't help but ironically chuckle, as if West Ham's defence would be quaking in their boots at the sight of Lingard coming of the bench. We never looked like scoring at any stage of the match and I just had the feeling that we would lose as soon as West Ham scored the 1st goal.

It's way too early to be saying we've got no chance of Champions League football next season but if we carry on with this 1 step forward, 2 steps backwards pattern of results then we will make it very hard for ourselves.

Yeah exactly how many more times is blaming the manager gonna work

The squad is thin admittedly so it doesn't help we've all these injuries piling up. Yes that shouldn't be an excuse but it's the clear the club has shifted its policy to bringing through youth, which should be backed, however we are gonna have these painful days along the way, it's natural.

I really think the goal of achieving top 4 is completely misguided this season. If we get there, it will be down to other's failures not because we're good enough. Why do pundits and the like always talk of rebuilding then slam a team because of any and every defeat? I believe we're making the right moves by getting rid of all the deadwood (still a few to go *cough* Fred, Matic etc.) Changing managers and going for marquis signings again will undo everything...

It’s cost nearly £900m to reach this level of mediocrity yet Woodward remains.
Good result for the reds although we were terrible in that second half!!

Might win the Europa league!

I agree, there will be ups and downs with Man utd this season. Like I've said many times it's about consistency, the problem is the media and the fans have little patience. I don't think Ole is the manager to take Man Utd to the top again but there is scope to get in to the Top 4, it's all round who can get the most points and beat the lesser teams as I think it's going to be tight, especially when factoring in the European matches as well. Arsenal only scrapped the win just today.

I mean the Man Utd squad is average at best, but not replacing Lukaku is rightly going to come back and bite Ole on his arse.

2nd half was sqeaky bum time and you could clearly see we lost all intensity. But 3 points at Stamford Bridge is massive - I'll take a gritty win any day of the week.

Yeh you need wins like that but they couldn't string 3 passes together that last 30 mins

Both teams were giving the ball away cheaply. Totally agree although it was rugged away performance. After a European match in Italy, the crowd getting back in to the game and the fact Chelsea are a good side, I wouldn't read too much in to it. Hopefully most of the team gets a breather midweek.

Think the ref was getting carried away with the yellow card for Arnold for the throw in, listening to the crowd booing every time we had any set piece.
How was that not a pen for Villa? Isn't that what VAR is supposed to be used for? Good game between Arsenal and Aston Villa.

Knowing West Ham they'll get carried away with today's result against us and end up losing to Bournemouth next weekend. I'd even go as far to say that it will be a home banker for Bournemouth!

First highlight until the 35th minute on MOTD2 in the West Ham v Man United match.
A fourth win then for Pellegrini over a fourth different Man United manager.

A draw is about all (Man Utd) can hope for, I think against Arsenal.

Against Arsenal at home? Don't think so, even when we are at our worst we still manage to beat them at Old Trafford. They haven't won at Old Trafford in ages and this is Arsenal we're talking about, not 2011 Barcelona. A win is very much possible.
