It's hard to get excited about Manchester City dropping points in these circumstances because there is the inevitable feeling that by the end of the season it's not really going to make a difference at all. This just means that their 100% record has ended very early and they have to wait to have a chance to break their own 18 match Premier League record winning streak.

I knew Teemu Pukki was going to have a good game against Newcastle today and I wanted to put him in my fantasy team but he was a bit pricey and I didn't want more than 4 points deducted at this stage. I'm gutted that I didn't have him in my team, just seen his 1st goal on Match Of The Day and it was class. Norwich could surprise a lot of people including myself this season.

There will be plenty of dropped points throughout the season. City have a really favourable run on paper now so I’m glad they have dropped some points this early on. Personally for me I think they will miss Kompany in these big games. This is a game they should have won about 4-0 so for them to come away with just a point is great.

Peps faith seems to be in Otamendi to replace Kompany so for me his only top top defender is LaPorte which is good news for the rest!
Great to see first wins for Norwich and Sheffield United, really good performances. Two of the best promoted teams in recent years, still think they've both been massively underrated - can't see either going back down.

They have both hit the ground running for sure - it's just I don't see who would go down in their place? Newcastle definitely don't give me any hope at all now tbf so put them in the bracket, Watford will sort their shit out, Palace will sack Hodgson & draft in one of the usual "survival specialists" and ultimately be fine. Brighton look much better than I thought too.

The promoted teams always ride on an initial wave of hype, it's during the nitty gritty stages of the season where a few defeats & it all spirals downwards. I recall Fulham starting last season all guns blazing then look how that ended. Ideally we'd see another season with all 3 staying up however to clear out some of the PL deadwood.

Palace rely too much on Zaha and he could easily go in January. Brighton have bought really well over the summer and while I think they will get hammered a few times they will be fine.

I’ve never fancied Norwich to go down, I think they will be fine as long as they score goals. Their problem will come in 12 months time keeping hold of their players when the Top 6 come calling. Still really don’t fancy Villa to do much, Newcastle look hopeless and while Sheffield Utd has a good game today their problem will always be scoring goals. The problem with the smaller sides always comes after the second international break.

I'm sure he will, they were unlucky against both us and pool and played some great stuff in the first half today. I think it more shows how good Leicester are tbf and could pose a genuine threat to the top 6. The weakness in Chelsea's squad are plain to see so can't see how changing managers will improve anything either, they knew their predicament this season after all!

Mind you this is Mr. Abramovic we're talking about here so its not out of the question, one can only imagine the fans revolt though - it would be far more than when Jose was sacked part 2.

Do we reckon Lampard will still have a job in September?

Easily, I don't think they are expected to do anything more than Top 6. Their problem right now will be consistency and grabbing goals when they are not playing well. Pulisic was really good midweek but he was terrible today I thought.

Leicester are a good side and will cause some teams problems today, but for a good part of the game today they were dogger too.

The bottom half of the Premier League really isn't that good. A good well coached team who gets 90 points+ can easily compete with it, and with a couple of quality additions can survive quite comfortably. I don't see Newcastle as being anything other than nailed on to go down, Palace squad is dire - definite contenders. Villa clearly have work to do to gel so many new players, Watford were a shambles at the end of last season and it looks like it's carried on. Burnley can't keep defying stats like they have done and Southampton still look defensively suspect, maybe Hassenhuttl not having the anticipated effect? 6 teams there plus Brighton, Sheffield Utd and Norwich. I just don't see those three sides, with those managers, as being worse.

It's easy to assume teams will just sack a manager and be ok, teams can just sleepwalk to an unexpected relegation battle. You'd have always thought Stoke or West Brom would sort it out but they never did. This season I can easily see that team being Palace, I don't see where they will score enough goals. It's an old and really poor squad, relying on a best player who clearly doesn't want to be there anymore.

Fulham got an early home win against Burnley but only had 5 points after 12 games. They were a shambles from the word go.

I think Sheffield United will get relegated, I've got no doubt about that. It's Norwich that are giving me major doubts at the moment as I had them going down but watching how they attacked and at times outplayed Liverpool and having Pukki as a goalscorer is making me close to changing my mind. I think the relegation battle this season could be one of the best of all time because there isn't really a team who stands out as the worst like there normally would be.

Watford will be fine I think, they have a good squad, will sign half of Italy on loan if they struggle and I think they will find a good quality coachif they do sack the manager. The problem often is when manager's go for the 'safe hands' unless they get that boost, they will struggle as the standard of coaching has moved on. Look at Steve Bruce, 10 years ago he'd have kept you up, but now so many teams have moved past just being set up for a low block, play with a higher risk but leads to a greater reward.

Anyone could go down really, Newcastle the only dead certs for me. Problem as always will be scoring goals on a consistent basis and not getting continually spanked by the Top 6 as that's what killed Huddersfield and Fulham off last season, I think those drubbings just got to their mentality.

Yeh it's difficult to know who will go down other than Newcastle.

I think Sheff United may surprise a lot this season with the way Wilder sets up his sides. He's an excellent manager with 3 promotions in the last 4 seasons with United and Northampton. But he has a team of good championship players.

I know the championship and the Premiership are a lot different but why is everyone so shocked by Norwich, does no one watch the EFL?? I do worry about the amount of goals they concede though if they did it so badly in the second tier it will be worse in this league.

Good first half, controlled things well. Contrasts with a sloppy second half. Lot of work still to do. Wolves confirmed as our new boogyteam, took an absolute worldie tho. Can't deny them the point after that cracker of a goal

Moss can throw himself into the nearest volcano.

It was a poor game of little chances on both sides, but both teams played some decent stuff at times. Two big problems I have spotted with Utd so far - there is a real lack of technical ability on the pitch. All your chances rely on space or the pace and beating a man. Secondly I think Wan-Bissaka is a really solid signing, but he's useless with the ball.

Neville contines to be criminally deluded.

I don't think it's so much a lack of technical ability more a lack of midfield that hurts us. We've fixed our back line and we've a potentially lethal attack, but we're using Lingard and McTominay as the link?! Nah mate. Pogba needs upgraded support, once that arrives we'll be onto something. LVG and Jose took a direct route onto fellaini's head for years after all. Midfield needs to be what we go after next summer, or in Jan if something appropriate is available.

I rate Wan-Bissaka as well and James too. Both will improve massively as the days go on. They're basically kids still so they've got plenty to learn and grow into their game. Its an exciting future for sure.

Don't know wtf Neville is smoking. Keeper made a quality save, end of. It happens (except for De Gea) but I'd rather we had players with that confidence and fight than meekly falling into a "on you go pal" "no i insist" bollocks. Have confidence and smash it in. If it gets saved, then fair enough we move onto the next.

Will absolutely take that result but should have been the win! Controlled the game first half but fair play to them they upped the ante in the second. Yes yes the penalty debate but it shouldn't matter who takes, you can't be missing from that distance whoever you are at such a pivotal moment.

New signings all looking good still aside from some questionable antics from James in the first half.

Rashford still makes too many bad choices. He needs to cut that out, he does it every game I watch. There’s zero technical ability in midfield apart from Mata, all work horses. Liverpool can have that problem sometimes too.

I like Wan-Bissaka but just don’t rate James at all. Probably best served as an impact player for now. Signs are there for improvement though across the team. Think it’s a coin toss between Arsenal and Utd for 4th.

A draw against Wolves away is a good result but when you take us being in the lead and Pogba having his penalty saved into consideration then it feels disappointing not to leave with a win. You can trust Wolves to be extra motivated when they play one of the top teams but it probably wont be the same when they play Burnley at home on the weekend. Only Liverpool and Arsenal have 100% records now and at least one of those records is guaranteed to end when they play each other on Saturday. It must be rare for this to happen so early, normally there's at least one team that will win their opening 4 or so games.
