"I was not involved with 'F.U.R.B.' I have never met Frankee and she is definitely not my girlfriend or ex-girlfriend. The only way I was associated with it was when I was asked for licensing permission by Frankee's representatives, which makes me a writer on her song by copyright law. But I really didn't expect all this to come out of it, they are having fun with it, it's cool but in the end they are paying me for their 15 minutes of fame and I welcome her to my world of Ho-Wop!"

I was on team Eamon.

The Eamon/Frankee feud was iconic.

Unsurprisingly, both were one hit wonders (OK, Eamon's follow-up reached #27 but you didn't need to sell much to do that in 2004.)

There was also Chris Brown - Cinderella as an 'answer' to Rihanna's Umbrella (obviously before that incident)

Wasn’t “Sweet Dreams My LA Ex” written for Britney Spears as an answer track to “Cry Me a River”?
Don't know why this is still in my memory but this came to mind:

Apparently this is Marvin's 'ex'.

She was in VS with him, too :heehee:

Same band so might not county but Sixty Minute Man had the hilarious follow up a few years later Can't Do Sixty No More.

I absolutely LOVE that Pirates/Shola Ama track. So atmospheric with that chanting too. No idea that he wonderfully named Naila Boss had another top 10 as a feature until I wiki’ d her but a 2 play collab “It can’t be right” also made no.8 in 2004.

Love to see some more appreciation for this track. Honestly I love both 'versions' of it, I wish this had been the #1 dominating pairing of the year instead of Eamon/Frankee!
