Really disappointed by this. I was expecting their biggest crossover hit and we got their worst single (only beaten by Stay). No surprised they didn't break the Youtube record this time. Hopefully the next single? with Cardi B is better.

I've got no idea what to think about this  It reminds of Rih's Raining Men, a hot ass mess :')
Then Rosé can be the best in both.

I’d suggest you watch the dance performance video of How You Like That. She’s really untouchable when it comes to dancing.

I have seen it many a time. Lisa is generally considered the best and most capable dancer of the group, hence her being the main dancer

The fixed positions are kinda arbitrary at this point, it’s like how Jennie gets a lot of singing lines and is treated like a main vocal

...even though she’s main rapper...

It's not wowed me when I thought BLACKPINK were building momentum over here! It's quite one-note until the rapped verse and I actually missed the first chorus  Music video is stunning as always but the song almost sounds a bit regressive for them and blends a bit in with some other K-Pop girl bands' sound whereas BLACKPINK have always been a bit more cutting edge and better hooks than this one! I think the Selena feature was wasted unfortunately.

They absolutely SLAYED the video. I just wish it was for a better song. I don't "hate" the song now and bop to it in it's trashy, fun pop bop way, but I'm definitely not going back to it...

A big misfire, I think :(

I had a feeling this would be the case and my hype for it was non-existent (which is unusual for me and BLACKPINK) and the announcement of Selena low-key killed that for me. She just doesn't excite me and doesn't really add anything to the track that any of the other girls couldn't have done themselves. :drama: Again, could the Selena feature have been better utilised on a different song, maybe?

Now this I fully agree with

I still unapologetically love this song

I'm liking it & it's growing. But it is a long way below How You Like That so yes, a regression there.

Hot take of the week: this >> How You Like That > Sour Candy

This is kind of giving me 'Paper Planes' vibes (and I Googled that to see if it's just me being crazy, I do see other people making that comparison!!1) - lowkey a bit of a bop x

^ yeah, that rank should be the exact opposite way round -_- even as an Ari stan I can't defend this, it's pretty bad :')

So I've gone from liking this...to finding it kinda cringe to listen to :drama:

Sour Candy >> How You Like That >>>>>>>>> Ice Cream

The betrayal :cheeseblock: :kink:

How You Like That > Sour Candy >>> Ice Cream

I can't believe how much of a misstep IC is  (I'm still past the stage of cringe and enjoying it for the trash pop bop it is, but it's not what I wanted from either artists involved  )

I’m still obsessed with this and am glad that it managed to sneak into the Top 40 at #39, well done girls! :cheer:
This is growing but it is definitely a step down from Kill This Love and How You Like That. I've been trying to work out what it reminds me of all week and it's none of the songs here, but I'm getting 'MILF $' by Fergie, which is also in that "I like it but it's a bit of a mess" category.
