July 28, 20204 yr Heaven is so low considering it felt like it got about 20 11's! TALK ME DOWN is absolutely stellar. So beautiful. Meh at TYH being so high. Scraping top 10 was too high, let alone scraping the top 5! :drama:

July 28, 20204 yr How is Bloom top 5, ouch, a 0/10 song imho hate hate hate the metaphors he uses in the song, same with Plum Talk me Down should have been top 5 for certain
July 28, 20204 yr Author I much prefer the metaphors than a song without the metaphors describing everything in graphic, unfiltered detail :/
July 28, 20204 yr Bloom issa BOP. I hope it's near the top of the Top 5 - I will accept 1 or 2. 'Wild' is the only song I'm not hugely fond of that's left.
July 29, 20204 yr 6. Take Yourself Home (8.52) Shame to not see this do that well chartwise for him- although did become a top 10 hit in New ZealandOops, pedant here - it was only top 10 on their Heatseekers chart, didn't make their official top 40. :P But I agree it's a shame it didn't seem to appear on any official charts :( Surprised to see 1999 as low as 9th, but not complaining since it's just a feature. Dance To This, as much as I love it, is the only song I'd say is too high.

July 30, 20204 yr Heaven  I'm really happy that it's made the Top 10 - I feared it wouldn't make it! Simply stunning, with perfectly written lyrics - they're so powerful and relatable. The truth runs wild like a tear down a cheek ~ Also great to see Lucky Strike edge its way into the Top 10. One of the best from Bloom. I love the video too, it really suits the vibe of the track. A little disappointed to see i'm so tired... that low down! Issa bop, and it was a great moment to see it become such a big hit for him (and Lauv)! What a great Top 5! My preference would be My My My winning, with WILD as runner up. I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised that Dance to This is within the Top 5, because at the time of release the reaction to it leaned towards the negative, like it was a let down. Not for me though, I absolutely love it!
July 30, 20204 yr Author 41PTANtZFW0 5. Bloom (8.55) In 5th is the 3rd single off Troye's sophomore album and the title-track, Bloom. This song is a very tongue-in-cheek number about an intimate moment between Troye and a partner and was actually really welcomed by me as we very rarely get a track like this as relatively mainstream as this. Sivan described this as the most "subversively queer song" of his career and was described by Dazed magazine as a "queer anthem for bottoms" . The song unfortunately wasn't as commercially successful as My My My that had been released a few months prior but is definitely well-regarded by fans and a pride favourite!
July 30, 20204 yr Author bhxhNIQBKJI 4. Dance To This (feat. Ariana Grande) (8.89) Missing our top 3 but definitely putting up a good fight is Ariana Grande collab- Dance To This. The song is a mellow dance track, with a definite 80s influence all building up to that huge atmospheric bridge with the massive drums. Lyrically, the song is about "that moment when you feel like you've been to enough house parties or events, and staying home making out in the iamspamspamamiand cooking dinner sounds like a much, much better alternative", according to Sivan. The video has 159 million views making it Troye’s second biggest video after There For You. This is a fantastic song but I wouldn’t place it any higher than 4th purely because I wish the delivery in the bridge was used throughout the song as it’s truly a highlight. Ariana also sounds lush on this.
July 30, 20204 yr Author Will the Blue Neighbourhood era win or the Bloom era as we have Wild vs Youth vs My My My
July 30, 20204 yr I do NOT accept 'Bloom' being that low. It was the song that introduced me to Troye (I was quite late to the party.) That's not the Top 3 I would choose. I hope 'My My My' wins out of those.
August 1, 20204 yr Author _8G4oaOxyxk 3. Wild (9) Missing out on a top 2 hit is lead single off Troye's debut album: Wild. This song opened up the Blue Neighborhood Trilogy with a bang as it details the teenage love against a dream-pop production- spoiler alert- the trilogy doesn't end that optimistic. This song also was remixed to feature Canadian star Alessia Cara and I think I probably prefer that version- their voices go together beautifully and some of the ad-libs are so catchy! SOOO we have a Blue Neighburhood vs Bloom top 2! My My My vs Youth
August 1, 20204 yr i'm so tired... and Seventeen both deserved better! :( (especially considering Take Yourself Home has managed top 10, really girl? x) HEAVEN though
August 4, 20204 yr Author XYAghEq5Lfw 2. Youth (9.14) We lose Troye's biggest US hit in 2th with Youth. After loving this for months I remember discovering this had cracked the top 25 in the US and was hoping it would become a huge hit here in the UK but it wasn't meant to be- peaking at 96- although did manage to go silver! I personally would have placed this a lot lower- it's one of his less unique songs but the sentiment is very lovely and the bridge remains anthemic. and that of course leaves our number 1 as... k5TqNsr6YuQ 1. My My My (9.43) Our number 1 is Troye's lead single off his sophomore album Bloom- My My My. The song is about "moving the way you've always wanted to" according to Sivan and became his very first top 40 single in the UK peaking at 38. The song was a huge critical success ranking at number 17 in Pitchfork's Best Songs of the Year list and was a welcome change in mood and tempo compared to songs such as Talk Me Down and Suburbia on his debut! An absolutely worthy winner- thank you for rating!
August 4, 20204 yr Not my preferred choice of winner but still a banger. Thank you for this George :D
August 4, 20204 yr Feels like a bit of a weird winner, but it's a good track! I can't see him topping 'Wild' for me, it just gives me such a special feeling. (strictly the NON-Alessia Cara version)
August 4, 20204 yr My My My! is a fantastic winner, one of his very best! What a top 3 too  thanks for hosting George!
August 4, 20204 yr I found 'My My My!' an extremely underwhelming single from him to be honest. Would have been one of my lower scores if not the lowest (I don't dislike it but I don't think I particularly dislike any of his other songs either, out of the ones I have heard at least). So basically swap the #1 and #21 and these rate results would look ok :smoke:
August 5, 20204 yr Really surprised at My My My! winning, especially with that margin, even though I love the song! Nice to see, and really a perfect top 3 in any order
