Miley? I find it super commercial, not that different from Dua's stuff, think it could be a minor hit

Yep..I think it's "too chill", same goes with My Oasis by Sam Smith and Burna Boy. General public who just tries a song and moves on if it doesn't click won't embrace it.

At the end of the day it all depends if it gets playlist support

 

Look at Little Mix-Holiday, 2 weeks ago the song was low on HH so was doing poorly on Spotify and dropping like a stone

and everyone was calling it a flop

A week later it's moved into the top 10 on HH and it's back into the top 20 and about to re-peak

 

So it's all about support and how much the label is gonna invest in making deals/sending checks to Spotify

If L Mix was moved into the top 5 on HH it's cos they got a check,

sure it wasn't moved up cos the song was doing well, cos the song was doing very poorly

Lighter was released on the same day as Holiday and still is nowhere near the top 10 of HH despite being in the top 5 of Spotify's chart for like 16-17 days now.

I see Burna Boy/Stormzy are also top 50 at #37

 

then there are lots of Burna Boy album tracks in the top 200, same for Biffy Clyro

 

the only other new I can spot is Alicia Keys/Khalid at #175, which I didn't know it was out!

Miley #5 in the US is also nice to see,

no clue who this Morgan Wallen is, but is #3 in the US on both Spotify and Apple

He's a relatively new country artist whose debut album has been a sleeper hit and now he's on his second era (this is the second single). Whiskey Glasses was huge hit and certified triple platinum.

True, people are pretending that A. We didn't see that one coming with how WAP is performing. B. That WAP isn't the biggest song of the year... and ANY song would have been blocked by it. C. It got another push yesterday to an all time high.

 

Anyway, great numbers in total and good luck to anyone winning over WAP in the next few weeks (Maybe BTS fist week next week with them sold out 150K singles already in the US)

WAP increasing its figures to get to #1 and Miley debuting Top 30 (pretty sure Slide Away & Mother's Daughter didn't manage that) - we love to see it! I kinda thought Dua would be higher tbh but deserved.

I'm pretty sure all the newies (Miley etc) will be added to HH on Monday

Yeah, they seem to be more cautious adding stuff at the moment, they only added WAP once they saw how much it was climbing, so I assume it will be the same situation for Midnight Sky.

newies from US artists sometimes miss the Friday add on HH cos they're released too late to be included

but then they're added on Monday
