Anyone know who will win the league this year??

Liverpool are still by far and away the best team, you don't become a bad team overnight. Let's not forget we were missing Mane, Henderson, Allison and possibly Thiago. And who knows what disruption happened in the build-up with the covid outbreak. Now, if Everton turn us over in 2 weeks then I will re-assess my opinion. I'm pretty sure Man Utd under Fergie had their own terrible results and still won the title.

And it's only 4 games in to the season!

The last time we lost 6-1 in a season we ended up missing out on the title by a last minute goal so...

It is completely up the air right now. All the 'big teams' have lost now and we're only 4 games in. International break now with more chances of outbreaks and depleted squads, empty stadiums playing a part for sure it's a completely unique situation thus rendering any predictions near impossible.

Must say Spurs look the part though. Lets not forget they should have demolished Newcastle as well along with their 2 mega away wins (very un-Mourinho style) and all this whilst fighting in 3 comps playing 3 games each week. And that's before Bale has returned!

The games will catch Spurs out later in the season. Let's not forget how bad they were 2-3 weeks ago either!

Crazy start to the season.

Wow after seeing that I would be so annoyed if I was a Liverpool fan! They got cheated out of the win today.

Can finally put those LiVARpool jokes to bed.

The fact Virgil was offside for pointing at the ball was bad enough. Then for that decision to go against us in the end - I hate to be a sore loser, but how in the hell is that offside? Unless players can score with their hands? Absolutely disgraceful. Apparently the possible red card was not even checked for Pickford as they were so worried about getting the offside correct.

Pickford's move should have been red. These decisions about a inch from offside from VAR is again VAR madness.

I'm still not over it all to be honest. I can take losing a game, but this is more than that. That was not football. I like VAR but you cannot use the technology like that, its an absolute joke. A 2-2 draw feels like a defeat, probably compounded by VVD and Thiago suffering injuries. I'm all for a bit of football banter but how can Man Utd get a penalty for THAT - yet it can't even tell us whether Mane's eyelash is offside. I cannot see David Coote coming anywhere near referring our games for the rest of the year.

I’m more annoyed about Prickford staying on the pitch after that f***ing horrible challenge

The Pickford challenge was awful and should have been a red card. However, it was offside so it wasn't a penalty. That said, if there had been no VAR and a penalty had been awarded because the offside was missed, I wouldn't have had a lot of sympathy with Everton. In the past, I've felt the same when a reckless challenger perfectly timed to be just outside the box has resulted in a penalty.

As for the late offside, it looks to me as if the sleeve of his shirt was offside. Technically, the top of the shirt is no longer handball so he could have scored with it. OTOH, he could only have done that if the top of his arm was also offside. As it wasn't as far as I can see, the decision was ridiculous. Furthermore, as I've said before, we can't be sure that the picture was frozen at the right moment. This sort of nonsense is what happens when you introduce technology to try and ensure that every offside decision is 100% correct to the letter of the law.

That was quite a comeback by West Ham to come from 3-0 down with eight minutes to go. The equalizing goal from Lanzini in the last minute of injury time flew in from about 25 yards out.
This is why Tottenham don't win trophies, they get one major result and then start getting complacent and then they Spurs it up. Mourinho was saying that they could challenge for the title before today but if they carry on like this there's no way that will happen.

This season is crazy though as there won't be the pressure from the fans. Hence why I think we are seeing so many crazy results as players are more confident without the crowds. You could be winning the league this year with 80-85 points.

It could also be not having much of a pre-season that is contributing to things as well, I think this is showing how much a lot of players rely on the fans in the stadium to fully motivate themselves when really they should know in the back of their heads that millions of people all over the world are watching them and will judge them based on performance and results. I do hope this pattern of results can continue though. Aston Villa are now the only team that have won all of their matches so far

West Ham are the first team in Premier League history to avoid defeat in a game having trailed by 3+ goals as late as the 81st minute.
