what are we thinking for this then, instant #1? first commercial Calvin Harris track in well over a year, The Weeknd has had a huge year too, it could very well happen.

we really are being treated this Friday with this AND a new Disclosure album

top 5 and climb to #1 in its 2nd/3rd week is probably more likely, but I wouldn't rule out #1 in its first week seeing as Joel Corry has now peaked, unless this new Drake album does get surprise released on Friday (I'm expecting it won't but you never know).
I can see this fighting for #1 next week with Joel Corry and Cardi B

found this short clip, really was expecting something more dance

It just sounds like your typical Weeknd song!! Where the hell is Calvin on this

I like the clip although I do wish The Weeknd would do some more actual dance songs - I don’t even think his Disclosure collab was the danciest of songs  Although the VIP mix was a jam
Interesting, when I pre-added it on Apple Music it says the genre is R&B/Soul. Don’t know how reliable these categories are though.

This is the genre which is labeled on iTunes too. It's interesting as you said because all of his other releases, including Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1, are labeled as Dance.

so it's gonna be even less dance than Funk Waves? is it that even possible :D

theres hope there's some Calvin influence in the song, I always thought he got eaten up by Pharrell et al on Funk Waves

like Feels was 100% Pharrell, 0% Calvin... and this looks like it's gonna be the same

It's not that there won't be any Calvin influence, it's just not a dance production. He produced Feels entirely himself and played every instrument on it

just cos it’s not an uptempo dance banger doesn’t mean it ‘has no Calvin influence’. he’s not limited to just making one type of music.

a One Kiss style production wouldn’t beat suit The Weeknd anyway, it makes sense this collab is more RnB inspired.

smells like funk wav bounces vol. 2

but without any bounce intended

lol seriously it could be The Weeknd's solo-tagged stuff

Tbh can't see it bombing here and there instantly, but it really sounds rather chilly. The only thing I had to mention - hey, summer is almost over, Calvin!

Just heard it, it's not bad but it's quite dull :/ the production is pleasant, but I can't see myself returning to it much

I was thinking the same after the first listen but its been stuck in my head ever since and I'm quite liking it now.

as expected this is 100% The Weeknd, 0% Calvin

really sounds like that EP The Weeknd released before his last album, My Dear Melancholy?

the only part I like is when the drums kick in

but seems pretty chart-unfriendly
