It did, I distinctly remember it saying so on CD:UK when the video for Moodswings was premiered.

 

Well platinum is like 300.000 so it can't possibly.

Platinum isn't how much an album has sold it's how much is shipped.

 

The album hasn't sold platinum at all. It has sold very poorly compared to expectations.

It hasn't SOLD platinum, it has SHIPPED platinum.
