Posted October 8, 20204 yr Paloma Faith is releasing an album on 13/11. We’ve heard the lead single and we know she’s usually quite a good album seller overall although she’s never huge in week one. But how do we think Infinite Things will do for her. Will it be a second number one album for her or will she just miss out?
October 8, 20204 yr I'll say #3 with about 25k? There's not so much hype for Paloma this era and pure sales have nosedived since The Architect but Better Than This has performed well on iTunes and she'll probs get Strictly/TV slots Edited October 8, 20204 yr by Andrew.
October 8, 20204 yr Kylie and Little Mix both release the week prior! AC/DC's album is out the same week as Paloma and I'm sure they'll take the #1 with great ease.
October 8, 20204 yr Author I was thinking I didn’t know if it was just me but I haven’t seen as much hype for this as I did for say The Architect for example. That went to #1 on 40k sales in 2017. (Anyone got the sales for her first three albums in week one to try and compare). I’m thinking Paloma may well be quite good at promo. I can see her on the daytime shows then maybes Graham Norton too as well as Strictly. The thing now though is streaming contributes way more to the albums chart now than it ever has before and Paloma isn’t very big on streams but then there’s no major competition either as LM and Kylie are both releasing the week before and I think she’ll probably outsell both of their week two sales with her debut week. I’m gonna say sales of 24-27K. And a debut position of #3.
October 8, 20204 yr Previous first week sales: 17,326 Do You Want the Truth or Something Beautiful? (#14, 2009) 35,024 Fall to Grace (#2, 2012) 37,527 A Perfect Contradiction (#2, 2014) 39,544 The Architect (#1, 2017) She's actually increased with each release! :o Not sure if she'll do the same again but I'm sure she'll clear 30k.

The closeness of her last three albums debut weeks! :o :o Do we know anything re her pre orders too? I’m thinking it’ll be lower than what she’s done with her other albums bar her debut in week one but still sell well enough for a top 3 debut. We need more awareness of her music though at the moment. I don’t think the GP are aware an albums out so soon at the moment. If she’d went for a non q4 release though she could’ve had a multiple week #1! Also most of her albums peaked in sales after debut week didnt they? I’m sure The Architect sold more a week it wasn’t #1 and I think A Perfect Contradiction sold a lot in Q4 2014 too. I’m guessing her debut may have also peaked in sales after its first week on sale or was that just more of a slow / steady seller overall? It’s chart run is pretty impressive.
October 8, 20204 yr I wouldn't rule out Yungblud for #2 tbh, with the amount of bundles he's selling I can see him doing Vamps-like numbers. McFly's are quite hard to predict also with it being so long
October 8, 20204 yr I sadly think Paloma is gonna struggle, she's from the CD era but now the CD sales have crashed and to do well on physicals you need to sell vinyls and cassettes and have crazy fans multi-buying some indie artists have this kind of fan, and some pop artists like Kylie but Paloma sadly doesn't... in a way it's like Bon Jovi this week in albums, nobody is gonna buy 3 vynils and 5 cassettes and thats why theyøre selling half relative to their last era So I can see her doing just 15-20K sadly
October 10, 20204 yr Author Interesting almost everyone going for the same position yet such a variation on sales (I mean the options were close together  ) Still hardly seeing any buzz / mentions of this album online yet or across socials.
October 17, 20204 yr Author New Paloma song was release yesterday. Hopefully that’ll boost her pre-orders.
October 17, 20204 yr ^ That's still only a grat though, isn't it? It's strange how she's only released one proper single prior to the album, most big artists release at least two these days given how post-album singles don't really do anything any more.

I believe it is! Although it’s better than the actual single and definitely sounds like something what Radio 2 would play a lot!
October 17, 20204 yr I think Paloma will struggle this era. She won’t sell as well as her previous releases due to the fact there hasn’t been a hit single from the album and impact of covid.
