Posted November 29, 200618 yr Press release Buy - help - make a difference: every T-shirt counts! s.Oliver and Anastacia are supporting the fight against breast cancer with “Make a Difference†T-shirts 100 percent of the sales revenue goes to the “Anastacia Fundâ€, which supports Estée Lauder’s “Breast Cancer Research Foundation†Los Angeles/Rottendorf, 10.11.2006 s.Oliver and Anastacia are urging people to join in the battle against breast cancer. Under the motto of “Make a Differenceâ€, Anastacia has designed two T-shirts for s.Oliver that are being sold for a good cause. 100 percent of the sales revenue will go to the “Anastacia Fund†which supports Estée Lauder’s “Breast Cancer Foundation†In doing so, Anastacia and s.Oliver are supporting research into the early diagnosis of breast cancer. From December, two T-shirts - one short-sleeved and one with long sleeves - will be available in s.Oliver stores and from selected partners. Every year, 1.2 million women are diagnosed with breast cancer; Anastacia herself was found to have the disease in January 2003, and was successfully treated. She founded the “Anastacia Fund†for young women with cancer to raise funds for breast cancer research. The Fund is part of the “Breast Cancer Research Foundationâ€, which was founded in 1993 and originally set up by Evelyn Lauder (Estée Lauder). “It is also important that women go for regular checks,†says Anastacia. “A few years ago, I was diagnosed with cancer, and I know how it feels when fate deals you such an unexpected blow. With ‘Make a Difference’ I want to give other people the opportunity to get something going and become active in the fight against cancer.†Thomas Steinhart, managing director of s.Oliver: “Social involvement is an important part of our company philosophy. We would also like to contribute towards the battle against cancer. The figures are alarming: every year, 1.2 million women all over the world are diagnosed with breast cancer, and more than 400,000 of them die of the malignant tumour. We are delighted that many of our retail partners are also joining in with selling the T-shirts.†The women’s shirts are available in a long-sleeved version (39.95 €) and short-sleeved (29.95 €), in red and black, and in sizes XS to XL. They will be on sale in s.Oliver stores and from selected retail partners, as well as in s.Oliver’s online shop (www.anastaciabysoliver.com). On 17 August this year, the “Anastacia by s.Oliver†fashion collection was launched in over 500 locations all over Europe. Every month the collection offers new styles. Last year, Anastacia and the company sold charity shirts to raise funds for victims of the Pakistan earthquake, and a donation of 160,000 € was made to the Red Cross.
