Charlotte Church has parted company with her record label.

The Welsh songstress - whose debut pop album Tissues And Issues hit No 5 in the charts last year - has split from Sony BMG while she concentrates on her budding TV career.

A spokesman for the record company confirmed that the singer was no longer with Sony BMG.

And the singer's spokesperson told Heat magazine: "She's focusing on her TV projects and a book coming out next year. She'll talk to record companies once she starts recording again, in 2008."

The 20-year-old has been a hit with TV audiences since her talk show, The Charlotte Church Show, was launched earlier this year.

The programme features a mix of sketches, music and interviews.

Charlotte scooped the gong for Funniest TV Personality at this year's Loaded magazine's Lafta awards and has been nominated for Best Female Comedy Newcomer of 2006 at the British Comedy Awards.

It was recently announced that Channel 4 has commissioned a further two series of the show.

It's a pity she's stopped making music, I didn't have her album but her singles were really good ^_^ Exactly the sort of sound I thought she would do and it worked.

It's a pity that didn't translate into sales :(

The album dropped off the radar because none of the other singles apart from 'Crazy Chick' did that well, if she'd have had another top 5 from it, it would have done better.
Yeh, I expected Call My Name to be a contender for #1 - it did surprisingly badly.
