Posted November 30, 200618 yr Basically most movies I enjoy are these films which consisnt of psychological twists, the parenormal, the  . I wanted to know if anyone else is interested in these kind of films and talk about some of the controversial endings. Im especially into these films because im so tired of films nowadays that are mostly meant for the masses  which mostly are just dumb really. Wheres the imgaination, creativity? Movies are as follow: Mulholland Drive, Pi, The Fountain, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Science of Sleep, Adaptation, Being John Malkovich, Run Lola Run etc Recently were the Fountain which was :yahoo: and Science of Sleep looks like Sunshine which was practically Cinema Sex
December 1, 200618 yr Mulholland Drive, Pi, The Fountain, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Science of Sleep, Adaptation, Being John Malkovich, Run Lola Run etc Pretty much like all of these... A few more for you - Lost Highway, Zabriskie Point, Eraserhead, Tetsuo - The Iron Man, Ichii The Killer...
December 1, 200618 yr I'm not quite sure what you mean but I watched this film last night which sorta sounds like your description. It was called Sex & Lucia. Definately some  moments in it but an absolutely brilliant film.
December 1, 200618 yr I recommend the animation film "Waking Life" for a rather bizarre but fascinating flick. Also if you like Pi and The Fountain I presume you've seen Requiem for a Dream (and if not, it's an obvious must). I haven't seen Irréversible but I've heard that it's extremely disturbing and far from conventional, Hollywood cinema.
December 1, 200618 yr I haven't seen Irréversible but I've heard that it's extremely disturbing and far from conventional, Hollywood cinema. Well, it's French, so it wouldn't be conventional Hollywood cinema anyway....  It is incredibly disturbing though... There is an absolutely horrifying protracted rape scene that really makes you feel like you're the lowest, scummiest human being on Earth for just sitting there and watching this poor woman being beaten, humiliated and sodomised, which is exactly what you damn well should feel anyway, rape finally given a cinematic treatment that actually gives you an insight to what the victim is feeling when they have to endure such a horrific assault.... It's made even worse by the fact that it's all been done in one take, no flashy editing or clever camera angles, the camera remains static and just adds to the unbearable actions taking place because you just want it to STOP!! CUT AWAY TO ANOTHER SCENE!!! But of course the film-maker gives the viewer (or 'Voyeur'..?) absolutely no relief or mercy... The film is a really gruelling, harsh experience which I wouldn't particularly recommend but it's one I feel people really should watch....
December 3, 200618 yr Author Sounds sexy, anyone seen The Piano Teacher (no no not the Pianist) but its a really disturbing story at its end the protagonist commits suicide while exiting a theare onto the city streets. ^_^ That movie sounds great though i hope its easy to find.(by the way i have seen Requiem its just nice to see a true Aronofsky inspired film with the Fountain, and Pi before it)
