The Pussycat Dolls @ MEN Arena, Manchester

By Jenny Minard

WOMEN should have locked up their men last night as The Pussycat Dolls hit Manchester.

They entertained a packed audience for one and a half hours of fun, frolics and monochrome madness.

And straight away they had the MEN Arena crowd buzzing with Buttons.

The Dolls sang most of the tracks from their smash hit debut album PCD, as well as renditions of Led Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love and Soft Cell's Tainted Love and a medley of Fever, Feeling Good and Hot Stuff.

They performed their new single, Wait a Minute, featuring Timbaland, to rapturous applause.

But the song of the night, was Don't Cha, their number one smash hit brought gaggles of women shaking their booties and screaming the words, not to mention the men drooling as The Dolls danced on stage.

Lead singer Nicole stole most of the plaudits, but Jessica had a moment of her own when she broke down in tears whilst thanking the audience for their support.

One of the show's highlights involved inviting three members of the crowd on stage with them for a dance-off.

Women dragged their boyfriends but most women dragged their girlfriends for a bit of girl power, circa 2006. Think less Spice Girls, more Charlie's Angels - with fewer clothes on naturally.

There is no stopping these six - the other girls are Ashley, Melody, Kimberly and Carmit.

But die hard fans need not worry for they will be back in Britain at the end of January - and back in Manchester on February 4. Get your tickets now.

From starting out by playing in Johnny Depp's Viper Room, Los Angeles, and touring with Christina Aguilera to making the stage their own and pulling off an arena tour, these girls really have some tiger in them.
